I've started to use my sewing machine again (after a few years of not using it at all). Today I made a quick table runner top from odd jelly roll pieces I had leftover from other projects. Now I just have to find some backing material and batting! Oh, no! A trip to the fabric store may be required ;-) I cleaned out & gave away most of my supplies when I thought I was moving and now am slowly replenishing my fabric and notions stash. The runner was a refresher before I start on a jelly roll race lap quilt. Fun times ahead--it's great to get back into creating!

It sounds like you are having a lot of fun getting back into sewing, Carol. Have fun with your next quilt. I can’t wait to hear how it turns out.

How cute -- I love minis. I wish I still had my dollhouse or the one I built for my daughter's Sunshine Family.

Grace, your work is amazing! I love the mini furniture cross stitch pieces. I have a set of "Julenisser" (Danish Christmas elves) figures about 4" inches tall and a few pieces of wood furniture (table, chairs, benches) that would look great with cross stitch tablecloth, pillows and pads. I think I'm going to have to try that with some sort of Scandi design. Thanks for the inspiration!

Grace, those are all so cute! I was looking around yesterday for some Christmas cross stitch patterns. I always change my mind just cause I don’t know how to display it once it’s done.

You do beautiful work Grace. I did a lot of cross stitch when I was younger and need to get back to it. I love to go to the Southern Christmas show here in Charlotte every year. They always have a miniature competition. A whole room filled with houses, cabins, campers, treehouses, you name it. All behind glass of course. The creativity is amazing, and through the years, people are starting to think outside the box. What started twenty five years ago with your typical two story doll house, has now turned into anything goes. I remember one year, someone had taken a two liter soda bottle and transformed it into a three story townhome!

That would be a fun show to attend! I've never been to a miniature show before but I've seen some fairy gardens that were amazing!

A museum near us, the Kentucky Gateway Museum, in Maysville, has a whole section of miniature houses and displays. They even sell mini furniture and accessories but they are pricey.

Belivee it or not I used to walk down the Barbie section of toy stores before heading over to the Tonka trucks and such to buy for my sons. I loved my Barbie & Dawn dolls when I was growing up and it would have blown my mind to have the accessories they sell now. Glad your daughter loved her doll house & Barbies while growing up, that must have made gift giving easy for her!

Hy there. I love hearing about all ya'lls creative projects. I'm currently working on a stocking for my grandson. Hope I get it finished in time for Christmas.

Wow, I didn't think I was gone that long. You all have been so busy with such wonderful work.

I am currently working on a flying skull shawl and hopefully get it done in time to get it to her by Christmas.
