Denise -- the one advantage Steam a Seam lite 2 has over WonderUnder is that it is sticky until you iron it so you can reposition it if necessary.

Judith - I have a very easy Pineapple Quilt block pattern. No patterns - just a method of adding the strips together.

Linda-- that sounds lind of like the one I made. I remember cutting a lot of strips and triangles. Easy peasy.

It's wilder than the picture. The dark fabric is really a bright purple. I named it mardi gras.

That is a beautiful quilt Judith.

Yesterday I finished my sunbonnet for the swap. And then I started some new blocks using selvages - the part of fabric you usually throw away! I found a pattern on Pinterest and it is called Log Cabin Library. Here's a picture of 5 of them.

They go together easily and I love making them. The only problem is making sure the selvages are cut wide enough, and I have been cutting them at least 1-1/2" so mostly all of mine have been useable. They are made on a foundation piece and are 12" when finished.

I am in awe that you make a quilt like that and say "easy peasy". Maybe one day I'll get there but right now I see that and say "that looks like a lot of work!!" It sure turned out nice though.

Linda - Those blocks look neat. What are you planning to make with all of them?

Heather -

I am making the quilt in the pattern I have posted the link to, below. I wanted a throw quilt to use with a reading chair we bought for our bedroom. I have loads of selvages already cut, and have been looking for an easy quilt to make with them.

Here is a link to download the free pattern. http://www.aqsblog.com/free-log-cabin-library-pattern-by-karen-griska

I also have a spider web top I made with selvages and I plan to make it into a tablecloth.

Judith, that quilt is gorgeous! Mardi Gras is very fitting.

Linda, that’s such an interesting idea! I’m curious to see it when it’s completed!

But Grace, I haven't grown up yet! I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
I found my bonnet pattern. It's been 25+ years since I made it so I think I'll do a trial run tomorrow.

I completed my very first cross stitch project! It was so much fun and I’m excited to start another one. My next one is already shipped and on its way! I have plans to make that one for Christmas for my mom.

Here are all 16 blocks for the center of the Log Cabin Library quilt I'm making using selvages. I still need to make the border units, and they will take a lot more selvage strips. I don't have very many duplicate strips in these blocks, and I still have a lot more fabric selvages I haven't used. LOL!

And here are two Raggedy Ann/Andy quilt tops I've made from my mother's RA/A fabric. I still have about 40 yards. LOL! These two tops are the only ones that will have the large character blocks; this is all of that fabric that I have.

Nice cross stitch, Krista.
Linda -- you have done a lot of sewing with those little bitty strips. Very time consuming. It sounds like you have enough Raggedy Ann and Andy to warm an orphanage.

I'm taking a short rest from sewing to keep from getting totally burned out on the UFO project. I'm spending some time out in the yard, digging up pecan seedlings, transplanting ferns, generally tryin to clean up the yard a bit. Of course I wait until hot weather to do it. Something is eating my geraniums; don't know what, haven't caught them in the act. I've even gone out at night with a flashlight and still don't know what's doing it. Must be those invincible invisible bugs.

Wow Judith that is beautiful. Yes, mardi gras is the perfect name for it.

Linda, Love that. It reminds me of the cigar ribbon quilt I saw one time. Here is an image from the internet of the quilt.

Marie Love your mask!!!!

I finally finished my quilt. I started it in Sept. 2013. I still have to wash it to get the quilting markings off and put on a label but it is done after 7 years.
