Oh Grace! I love that! Is there a formula that you use to figure how big to cut your circle to get your finished size yo-yo?

Debbie,
I just use a fancy schmancy technical tool,,, an old CD,(heehee) fold fabric About 4-5 thick, then traced around the disk and then cut..
I just sort of winged it...
I sewed them onto a piece of felt fabric, sewed on the yoyos and then sewed a 2nd piece of felt onto the back to cover up the stitches.
Sew easy peasy. The buttons represent the stars..

Needed a couple of Thanks gifts, sew here is some of the ones I made..

These are so quick and easy to make.
Even easier if you use a pre-made pot holder folded.

The best part, I used scraps of fabric to make the Top part, and a small pieces of Velcro -hoop&loop tape for the closure and as always, a little YoYo for deco.

Linda, no, I created my version of a 'topper'.. with a flap/tab that has Velcro on it co hang the towel over the stove handle.
Normally I keep towels on hand to crochet the top,, but I just happened to notice the fabric I had, matched the towels and Voila!
The pot holders, folded in half work but are to stiff for my liking. so I just made a thin version of a pot holder (2 pieces of fabric and a thin layer of cotton batting) but with a Velcro tab instead of a loop.. and added some left over eyelet lace at the bottom.

Love the flag Grace! And those cute towels. Do you cut the towel in half or use the whole thing?

Love your creations, Grace. Can't wait to see what you turn the petals into. I've never tried them - they intimidate the crap out of me! Maybe one day I'll get the courage up to tackle some. For now I'm working on my friends table runner. The top is done. I just have to quilt it and bind it.

Great Dresden plate flowers, Grace. I've made several things with them in the past. You are just a creative diva.

I also have a lot of miscellaneous craft supplies - sometimes I have what I need and sometimes I don't. LOL!

After school is out this year, I may be teaching the 2 girls who do our cat-sitting how to quilt. I'm not sure if I will start with the simple blocks like 4-square and 9-patch or with scrappy strip piecing. I have an entire bin of scraps and lots of fabrics, so I can do either one.

Oh, Jean!!!! I found Rebsfabstash online!!!! I was looking for some things to finish a Lori Holt quilt pattern and they had everything!!! If the online store is that fabulous I can’t imagine how wonderful it would be to actually shop in the STORE!!! A new bucket list item for me :)

Denise, I tried posting yesterday to your question about tge dish towels, but we have been having wicked winds and power outages as well as wifi issues... that is what happens when ya get 40-45mph winds.. Oh Joy!

anyway, no, I do not cut the towel in half.. how ever you could cut the towel in half, and then when making the topper, cut one of the pieces as 2, leaving an open on the under/bottom side and stuff the gathered raw edge into the opening, then sew close..
Sorry I couldn't get through soon to reply.
