Finished another UFO yesterday! I have had this one for over 5 years now, so I'm glad it's done! And the crazy part is that it was super simple lol. I don't know why I waited so long! It's a towel and appliqué kit.

Krista - doesn't it feel good to get those UFO's done!?! What a cute yoda too. I can't believe your son wasn't into it.

Marie - I'll have to look into that. I have a lot of jeans that could use some mending!!!

I'm hoping to work on my diamond painting tomorrow. Not sure I'll get it done though. Those things take a while! I need to do some sewing next week for some swaps. I want to make a little flag for the barn yard. I only have a Christmas flag. Anyone ever make one? Is there anything I need to do or not do?

I'm redoing a desk with chalk paint. It has one coat now. I'm also painting an old suitcase and a frame.

Here is the little mushroom I made and the afghan I am working on. I'm making the wolf. This booklet has different panels, borders and corners that you can mix and match. The center panel is done, I just couldn't fit it all in the picture. I tried making the corner pieces and finally gave up. I tried 2 different ones and ripped the second one out three times. This dark grey yarn is so hard to see. I can't seem to count the stitches or find the right places for the next round of stitches. The border is going much better. So I'm going to make the top and bottom borders go all the way across. I started to crochet as a way to relax so I'm not going to try those square corner things again with this project.

Vanessa that desk is so cute! I can't wait to see it finished along with the other items you are working on.

Krista I love your owl and Yoda is adorable!

Mushroom, maybe over stuffed.

Here is the wolf afghan. I need to work on my yarn color changes, didn't realize how hairy he looked until I looked at the picture.

Here's a better look at the border. This will be attached to one long side and I have a lot more to do!

Try using a strong overhead lamp or a full spectrum light to see the stitches in the dark yarn. I have learned to feel the stitches also.

Cute projects everyone... inspiring. You are all so talented. I recently started crocheting again, easiest stitch I could find, haven't crocheted since grade school, a long time ago. Its helped with the emotional roller coaster of losing my dad recently... I just finished my first afghan... reminds me of my mother, she always crocheted growing up and we always seemed to have an afghan or two on the back of the couch. Something I find so comforting.

April,
That afghan is beautiful! Wishing you condolences for losing your dad. Memories are the treasure to remember them by, and his spirit is alive. Crochet increases dopamine and calms the mind. It's a go-to drug to help sooth. The memories of comfort such as your mother crocheting is like a warm hug. Crochet and caffeine are my drugs of choice in life. But above all, God is the best comforter. Keep feeding your soul and mind with things that comfort you and bring you joy.

Keep shining!
Natalie

Andrea, your crochet looks great. Could you use a different colored yarn that is easier to see with? I hate using black for this exact reason.

April, your afghan is beautiful! I hope you are doing better. I’m sorry to hear about your dad. I hope crochet will continue to help you feel better!

Yesterday I started to crochet and egg idea I had in my head. I didn’t like how it turned out, so I took it all apart and decided to work on my next project on the list. I made many people around me an Easter garland but not my own so I’m making that now.

Thank you, ladies. You are always so supportive and encouraging and inspiring and everything wonderful... I'm hoping to venture to something like Andrea's wolf afghan in the future. I'm thinking something sunflower'ish... in time and with allot more practice. I love seeing all your projects and ufo's... and honestly, this link has inspired me lately to get back into the swing of things. :-) My heart is grateful.

Oh my... what lovely projects you all have been working on... I have not had time to get into any crafting mischief the past week... but the good news is,, I am back home,, and I swear,, the 'messy fairies' have run amuck in my sewing room! Maybe I'll just close the door and make another cup of Tea,, and then when I go back in... maybe it will be organized... I Wish! lol!

Vanessa, I love your painting! What a treat to see your work. I used to work for an antique dealer and refinished furniture for her. Lots of fun. My dad was a painter for a college here and I learned the craft from him and my mom.

Nice Vanessa! You sure have been really busy. I hope it warms up soon for you.

I finished another project on my list. I made many bunny garlands for others the last 2 years but never made me one. Finally got around to making my own!

Thank you April.

I had another friend reach out to me and ask me to make her niece a unicorn diaper cover set. I purchased the pattern last night and will get started on it tonight.
