Oh, Diana, how delightful your little quiltlet is. Will you use it as a wall hanging or table topper or ??? But, oh my goodness, 1-1/2 inch squares would have made me blinder than I already am. Awesome job!! You are just down the road from me in Orofino. I am in Deary. We MUST get together for a plaly day when this Coronamadness is over. We could meet at one of the great Orofino quilt shops and have lunch at that beautiful restaurant right on the river. I think it's at the Best Western Hotel complex. Have you discovered the Featherweight Shop in Kooskia (sp?). Katmom aka Grace turned me on to it recently. I've only been able to visit online but am anxious to get there in person and meet the great staff. Their website and Newsletter are fantastic.

Diana -- cute little qultlet. I love working with 1 ½ inch squares. I have a couple shoeboxes full of them I keep in our trailer for hand crank projects when we are camping.
Linda -- I wish I only had 17 UFOs! There are still more waiting to be finished. If the pandemic lasts long enough I may get them done but it seems like I keep fining more day by day.

Diana -- Sounds like great fun. And, absolutely we have to get Katmom down here too. She's the one who told me about the Featherweight shop.
Linda -- Yes, I have two. One a traditional black one that I bought myself shortly after graduating high school. The other is a white one made in England I think. I got it several years later. Nothing better for straight beautiful stitching.

The boys quilt top on left went missing for a month or so. This morning, as it often happens, I found it while looking for something else. The girls quilt on right is getting quilted. Rainy weather is perfect for quilting.

I have learned to store stuff where I can find it!

I love my 2 featherweights - they are both black. Neither is the one I grew up sewing on, but I got them both off eBay for me and my Mom. My mom's that I grew up with and took to college was traded in on a Singer Touch-n-Sew in 1972 - a week before my son was born. My mother said to trade it in because they were giving me more than she paid for it when she was in college. I kicked myself ever since and had to buy one for me and one for her. After she passed away I got hers, too. They are the best! I still would like to find a Singer Featherweight 222 with the removable bed and feed dogs that lower.

Yep, Linda. I hear you. I just put a piece of masking tape over the feed dogs when I need to.

I have a 222 that was purchased in England. I need to take it to the almost local Featherweight guy and have the motor exchanged for a 110 v one so I don't have to use the voltage changing thingy which seems to make it burn out bulbs. It is such a handy little machine with the open arm and dropping feed dogs. You don't really need to use tape to cover the feed dogs for free motion -- just set the stitch length to 0.

It’s been a little while since I have shared what I am working on. For awhile now I have been wanting to make my kids an advent calendar and I decided this year would be the year. I have high hopes to have it completed before December 1st, so hopefully I can get it done. The original pattern called for felt number stickers and I decided to go with wood pieces to sew on instead. They aren’t due to arrive until next week, so it may be hanging without numbers for the first couple of days. Should have started this project a little sooner so I wasn’t cutting it so close lol

The 222 is what I have been wanting. I have 2 221s and may one day get a 222. I use my 221s all the time.
