I have been snuggling up in my fluffy robe and box of tissues , reading through a stack of books from our local library..

I think you will enjoy this book.
It has basic and advanced stitches as well as stitching with seed beads and silk ribbon.
Maybe your local library has a copy if not check out a web site called Thrifty Books..

Receiving them brings us joy too Karen!!!!

I was inspired by Krista's corner to corner crochet projects. I learned how to do it by making a baby blanket:

I'm working on a pattern with a picture in it now. Not sure I like all the color changes LOL!

Heather, that looks great! I look forward to seeing your next one. I know what you mean about color changes. My yarn always gets tangled no matter how hard I try to avoid it.

Finally finished my next corner to corner crochet project. The pattern said it was a coaster, but it ended up being bigger than most of my dishcloths!

It could be a centerpiece coaster. Or one you put under plants. It turned out great, Heather. Good job.

Way to go, Krista That will be a great afghan when you are done. Wish I could get things done as fast ass you do.

I have been sorting fabric I was given for my quilt guild - it was the remaining un-purchased from a nearby garage sale. I am having to sort it between quilting cotton, dress making fabrics, and heavier crafting/purse fabrics. Plus there is a large box of clothing patterns, mostly from the 1980s-2009 and some even before 1980. LOL! The quilting fabric will go to my guild and the patterns and dressmaking fabrics will go to one of the local thrift stores that support women's and children's needs.I'm almost done sorting.

I donated a box of felt pieces of all colors and a miscellaneous-filled box to a local church for children's craft projects in VBS. I also gave them what I had collected so far of egg cartons, tp and paper towel tubes, and liquid coffee creamer bottles. So I cleaned out a little.

Linda, that is awesome. You have been super busy! My sister-in-law gave me a stack of fabric a couple weeks ago. I am still trying to decide what to make with them since I am not a big sewer. I am thinking maybe some rice bags for the kids for Christmas! That should be simple enough. There was also some minky style material that I would love to turn into a blanket for my baby, but the material seems a little intimidating.

Krista,, you could sew up some simple 'market tote' bags, then when someone has a birthday, fill the tote with goodies, ex: for areader, book, magazine and bookmarker...
a Cook/baker: pot holder, wooden spoon and cake mix or chili seasoning mix,
a gardener,: a hand spade, plant markers, garden magazine...
you get the idea..
Luv using scrap fabric.... have fun with your stash.

I had a burst of energy this weekend and quilted the corners. Next I think I'll make a feather pattern on the outer border.
