Barbara,
I feel the same about the mountains. It used to be that I had to visit the ocean in the off-seasons twice a year; but I am over that now. I belong in the wild. Lol!

Bonnie,
That photo is beautiful. I agree with Terri about it being contest worthy!

Keep shining!

As I was preparing my Patriotic Squares to mail today, Mom walked in and offered to help. It's the little things that mean a lot.

Natalie--I so agree! When I was a teen I stayed with my sister in Charleston SC a lot and we both hated the ocean and the sand up our cracks when we got home---and I got stung by a jelly fish once. The ocean is scary to me. And I did go to the desert when I was 19---to ARizona--- and I got wrinkles and I hated it. And when I got home to the mountains I could smell them and I knew that is where I belonged. Rock on in those mountains Girl---they are wonderful for sure.

As my friend was clearing an old house from my property, he noticed a pile of photo albums, got off his tractor, went picked them out of the ruins and brought them to my mother, He told her he did not think she wanted those destroyed. Thank you Beau!

Last year I splurged and purchased the Sweet Lena Iris. It started blooming three days ago and smells wonderful. It was planted by the porch so I could look out the window and watch it bloom. A new barn quilt for the wood shed has been inspired by this beautiful flower. I am happiest in the garden, with my critters, or creating something.

Natalie,
You've given me inspiration to get that azalea planted by the walnut tree outside my window.

I left the suet cake out tonight in hopes of seeing the mama opossum again tonight. She appeared on my deck looking for crumbs the cats may have left last night. I was about to shoo her away when I noticed she was carrying two little ones on her back. What a wonderful thing to see in person. Instead of her, I found two raccoons at the feeder tonight.

I think I almost have Mom convinced it is time for a dog.

Terri,

Flowers are God's artwork as well as everything else. Appreciating is probably pleasing to HIM as well as soothing to us.
Isn't nature so fun to watch?! Baby opossums are so cute. Those little masked bandits are smart, little rascals, too.

A very happy and practical note today: All the toilet paper shelves are stocked at the store! Woohoo! We met a nice lady at the store and we all did a little dance, "Hooray for toilet paper!"

Beth, this posting is for anyone to write a Happy Note here as a reply. So, you can write a Happy Note about what makes you happy today or any day. Just keep it to 25 words or less

Here is an example of my Happy Note reply for today.

This past weekend, our local PBS station ran a continual showing of Downton Abby. This was one of my most favorite dramas and binge watching, while doing some handcrafting, off and on over 3 days was wonderful!! It was the perfect escape and I loved being taken back to a completely different era with all of the ups and downs of change and the first World War.

What great happy thoughts! I love to read these. My happiness yesterday was finding a tiny baby turtle---about 2 inches long. It was so sweet and I could not put it down---but hubby took it and left it in grass by the creek. Such a great experience. We too have possums and one is so tame it lets me feed it.

As I was beginning my day today a doe walked across the hill in the back yard. She was the first deer I had seen so far this spring. But, even more wonderful, she was being followed by the cutest little fawn who looked to still be a bit wobbly on its legs it more hoped than walked. Thank you God!

My happy note for today is seeing my rose bush in full bloom. Many of them are done and have showered down their petals on the ground but there are many more buds to open yet. It is a bit early blooming. Usually June, October and December for this one. The smell is just beautiful on the breeze.

My happy note for today is about my so very kind husband. He won't mow the lawn because the seventeen year cicadas are hatching out here. They have been hatching for three days---so the grass is high. He has great respect for all living things.

My happy note for today is that I am on my screened in porch working remotely and listening to the birds. I am so thankful for my home, my husband and our two furry kitties.

Beth,
I love sitting on the porch. It is very quiet out here where we are and I enjoy watching the birds and other critters while out there. Any day on the porch is a good day!

I took my weed eater apart cleaned the carburetor and put it back together. I did not have any leftover parts and it ran after I filled the tank. The trimming is not finished but I have made a good start and I know I was able to tear it down and reassemble it.

May I join in also?
My happy note for today. A nurse where my mom lives was able to do Facetime with me and my mom. Tears of joy and sorrow I can't be with her.

Put your hair up in a bun, drink some coffee and handle it.
