I reached out to a Torrance California chapter yesterday
Would love to be more involved
I live in Los Angeles very close to LAX , Marina Del Rey and Manhattan Beach

I have reached out to three local Michigan chapters and have not heard anything yet. Do you think that COVID has slowed chapter activity to a crawl?

When I first joined, I reached out and didn't get any responses. I'm not sure how many are still going. There is a Zoom one I just joined which was fun. She posted above. :)

Brentwood Farmgirls in California is still active.
Monthly zoom meetings 3rd Thursday at 7pm. We also do activities, field trips, gatherings.
Any active member can join our chapter group.
If joining us and you live in another state just be aware of the time change difference, our meetings are PST (California)

| Okay so I am taking the leap and starting a chapter in my neck of the woods. I'm most comfortable with Facebook, so I set up a Gmail account and am going to set up a FB group to start soliciting members. Everyone in our little town is on FB. I've already talked about it to a few gals and they said to let them know as soon as I have a first info session. Question -- would it be better to host an initial info session at a local coffee shop and restaurant, or would it be okay to host it at my house? Being out in the country we are limited as to hours for coffee shops, and my food allergies keep me from many of the restaurants, but I'm also kind of an anxious host. What have ya'll seen work? |

Shennandoah, I do not belong to a chapter but throughout my life I have belonged to several clubs. If I knew the hostess, I was comfortable going to her home but if I was going because of a notice in the paper (before Facebook) or someone else told me about it I felt better going to a public place like a coffee shop or restaurant.

Brentwood Farm Girls located East of the San Francisco Bay Area is about to enter our 5th year in 2025.
We have monthly in person meetings with a Zoom option for those who cannot attend in person.
We do have members in Oregon, Florida and Texas, so the state does not matter.
You can find us also on Facebook for free, but if you want to do the meetings, activities, outings, badges etc., you need to be a MJF sisterhood member.
Currently, we have 9 active ladies and about 50 online in Facebook, we would love to increase our numbers and meet more people.
In 2025, for our 5 year celebration, we are taking a trip to Moscow, Idaho to Mary Janes Farm.

Shennandoah, I agree with Sara. I would rather meet in a public place if I don't know the person, but I would be fine with a house if I knew the person. Good luck with your new adventure! I hope you have a great turn out.
