This outfit is totally thrifted or handmade from thrifted fabric. It is on my blog. I did end up sewing the top to the skirt. What do ya'll think?

Ohhhh, I want this outfit (only in a different size)!! And this is higher praise than you can imagine -- I am not a clothes shopper and rarely get excited by clothes. You did a great job!

Thank you all! Oh, and Sheila...I mailed your pattern yesterday, so hopefully you will get it tomorrow.

Sorry about the delay, it got put under a pile of fabric in my workroom. It was labeled and ready to go and everything......argh....I'm losing it!!

I wish that this one fit me, it doesn't, but I am going to make it in a bigger size and also the skirt part separately from the top. I've got my eyes on a fabulous jean jacket for $2.50 at The Thrifty Quaker, and I have plenty of homespun and muslin to make this one over in a larger size.

Adorable! I mean it! I really really want to get on some projects today but I have SO much to do! I have several bohemian skirts I got last summer. Husband LOVES those long flowing skirts, even on my less than thin frame! And I am SOOO short and now that I have lost some weight they are "draggy"...I think I will get them out and take them up a notch. You inspired me.

Really...very nice!!!

Susan,
Why don't you rouche them, rather than hem them?

I love the farmgirl outfit, Georgann! If hubby hadn't challenged me to sew all our clothes this year, I'd buy it off you...it's even my size! As for the rouching idea...leave it to Tasha to suggest the good ones! I rouched a skirt last spring and hubby likes it so much he keeps asking when I am making another.

How do you add the ruching?

Love the homespun farbic choice. I jsut passed on a denim jacket at the Salvation Army. Now, I am going t ogo back and check and make my patchwork skirt to go with it. I lvoe the combo, s pretty and yet it signifies a woman of style who is not afraid to work either.

I LOVE your work Aunt George! You are very talented! I haven't worn a dress or skirt in many, many years, but I would sure wear something like this. Great job! Hugs, Lu
