I'm not sure if this topic has been posted before or not, i haven't read through everything. This shows you how to make a solar oven with a silver windshield shade. It's super simple, I'm going to pick on up and give it a try soon. Has anyone else tried a solar oven or anything?

we tried one this summer during the farmers market, but the day we did it, we baked bread in it, but the sun was not out consistenetly, so we didn't get baked bread, we got baked bread crust and gooey doughy insides....it just didnt work. You need a clear sunshiney day...

You can also make a 'cooker' with plain foil and skewer your food to be held above it. Or you can line a box and let that be your oven. You can also bring a pot of beans to the point of boil on a stove and then wrap the pot up in a heavy blanket and put in a 'firebox' and it will finish cooking, without the gassiness. Also, you can cook veggies like this too. Someone told me you could do a stew but I want to make sure the meat is cooked through and through so didn't try that one.

Happy Trails ;-)
