Marilou your flamingos are finally headed north. It took two attempts to get them in flight, they did not know how customs required so much to get through. Hugs Karla

Karla, those customs forms are the pits aren't they!
I love your statement: " I dusted once, it came back. I'm not falling for that again! "
I live on a country lane that is kaliche, it is almost a quarter mile to the county road, which is also...you guessed it...kaliche!!! There is no hope for my poor car or our old house, especially since our son had two guys come with maintainer and huge heavy roller to fill in the big holes. They did an awesome job, but instead of rock on top we have fogging kaliche dust. (Except when God sends us some rain.)

But since dust is a protective coating, why waste time dusting!
After all dust is my friend. I learned to write my name in dust on the window seals up I the Texas pan handle when I was five. Long ago!

Marilyn I too have lived on gravel/dust roads, my favorite was after we first married we moved to a small hobby farm, the house sat close to the road and the cars would fly by. Each summer we had it oiled and chipped, I loved to sit there and wait for the cars to go speeding by and hit the brakes when they realized fresh oil, my pay back. When I was a kid still at home we listened to Larry Lou Jack on WLS out of Chicago, he gave a housekeeping tip that has stayed with me all these years, It's OK to let your kids wright in the dust, just don't let them date it. My mom still would not let us wright in the dust, at the time I couldn't understand why not. Hugs Karla

My mother kept a very clean house. She was very distressed when those sandstorms came through, leaving dust on her clean wood floors, window seals, everything.
With three kids, five, three and two years old, crying because we could not breathe, I never understood why she did not want me to write my name! We lived with wet wash clothes over our nose and mouth to help us breathe. Usually they were gone by the next day.

Sheila,, I am heading into town tomorrow,, so I will swing by the P.O. Box...
We use a P.O. Box for several reasons,, but mostly to keep our mail secured,,
I have had mail stolen from my mailbox (which was kept as evidence during the 6mo trial).. uugh!
but where we live, out in the country,, our mail box is way out on the road,, out of view of our home,, and between snow plows doing their darndest to clear snow, and sometimes knocking over the base of the mail box, and some bored teens who like to drive by and bash in mail boxes.. we just prefer a P.O. box.. We did concrete in the 6x6 pole, 4ft down.. and my daughter's dad-n-law accidently slide off in the ice by our driveway and hit the pole,, it stayed in place,, but he incurred almost $2.000.00 in damage to his truck! yikes! (btw, that happened on Christmas Eve..) HoHoHo!

Grace I am glad the clock is working when I saw it I thought you would like it ! and I think lights are always fun, I liked the cup so much that I bought one for myself to use when I am sitting by the pond or on the patio it makes me smile with each sip I take. The wayward flamingo will not be there till Monday or Tuesday. Have a good weekend.

This was a fun swap. Looking at Pinterest, shopping, crafting with Hadlee (I love spending time with her), and just seeing those birds and hot pink everywhere! I remember the plastic flamingos stuck in a lady's flower bed out in West Texas, when I was a kid. It was not until we got Julie in our family, 27 years ago, that I learned that their pink color comes from the salmon they eat! So thank you Debbie, for this fun summer time swap!

No worries at all Deborah! I just wanted to be sure it made it to you. I am so happy you liked it all. Good luck with the estate, I know that has to be stressful!
