Hello Farmgirls,

I did away with Indigo so you will send 1 red, 1 orange, 1 yellow, 1 green, 1 blue and 1 purple ( can be lavender or any color purple.) NO tucks please. I want everyone to feel that they can join this swap. Sign up by 11/15 and mail out by 11/25. Can’t wait to see what y’all come up with next. Joey

Vanessa, thanks so much for your support of Color Swaps. When we started, we had lots of folks sign up. It seems now to be mostly you and Jill are interested and others, not so much. Years ago, there were women feeling overwhelmed because the tucks added to swaps was too much and they couldn’t afford it and didn’t want to be seen as “cheap” because they didn’t do tucks. I decided to do some swaps where the ‘’ rules” included “No tucks.” Thus, Color Swaps were born. This year I tried to keep us one holiday ahead-like doing purple/orange in Sept. so they would have their package for the holiday, but that didn’t work so well. If y’all are still interested we can start again. Just an idea, but I was also thinking in the new year of doing some swaps where you just send something you have at home, and a couple swaps that included cardboard inside a toilet paper roll..would you be interested in that? ...again, please no tucks, just the swap. I’d love feedback from y’all. What do you think?

We could swap craft supplies that we don't intend on using. I certainly could send things from BC. Or each person could declare their favourite hobby and their partner could send them a little something to use in that hobby. ie knitting - a pattern or ball of yarn, embroidery - threads, gardening - seeds etc. Wouldn't be very expensive at all. I know I had to not participate in one of the swaps that was really fun, but ended up costing way too much for my budget.

What did you mean cardboard inside a toilet paper roll?

Jill, what a great idea! That sounds doable and fun. I’m winding down for this year-only one more Color Swap-but looking at things for 2019. In the very middle of a toilet paper roll or paper towel roll is the cardboard roll that the toilet paper is wrapped around. It’s the piece that you put in the trash after the toilet paper is gone. Hope that helps.

I was on another site and was in charge of the "Swap Stop" we did swaps each month. I have lots of ideas! The one we did for Christmas was a Christmas tradition. For example, if you always had a pickle ornament on the Christmas tree, you would send your swap partner a pickle ornament and the story behind it.

What fun, Denise! Sounds like you bring lots of ideas to the Swaps here. I always spread myself too thin because I would sign up for lots of Swaps and then get overwhelmed on the follow-thru, but I’d sign up for those.

I got the packages today, Denise! Wow! I never thought there's be so many neat things with rainbows. I love the socks and with the cold weather they are welcome. The spinner will go up in the spring and the sticky notes will help me a work. The necklace is simply beautiful. Thank you so much!

Jami, I mailed yours yesterday. The post office said that the back up is cleared and it should reach you in about a week. Here's hoping.

Lovely package Vanessa!
