Time to clean my hummingbird feeders and decide on plants for pots on my porch and in my front yard. I want to start herbs this year, in pots small enough I can take some in the motorhome with us. LOL!

What kind of bananer are you making, Grace?

Linda,, Rosemary is a fun herb,,, that you can 'train' in to a small Topiary.. perfect for traveling and you can snips bits for cooking as well as steeping and using as a rosemary spritz to freshen up the room,,, if you like the scent,, my hubby is not that fond of rosemary...lol!

Ok,, I have been sewing like a crazy woman... trying to get some projects wrapped up before I fly back to SO.CAL next week..
But.. I did manage to finish my Garden Banner...
Drum roll...

I had some pillow ticking fabric left over from a previous project,,, and then, Thanx to CeeJay,(who sent me a set of MJF panals) I put this together..

I need to iron the stenciled letters, to set the paint, before I can put the banner outside...

hmmm. I might even attach a mini apron to the banner pole...
now to wait for the snow to melt and Spring to get here...

I love the idea of celebrating the pollinators. I'm lucky in that a fellow across the road has several hives and the bees happily come across to my garden.

It's entirely possible I won't plant a garden like I have in the past this year. The last two years have produced a pathetic garden plus we have had a very dry winter and water is a concern. The only things that did okay last year were my carrots, beans and leeks. IF . . . and I say IF .. we plant anything it will be in a simple raised bed OR in my brother-in-laws greenhouse. We'll see.

I found one of my 'Bee' themed aprons...

this one was lovingly made for me by a MJF sister many years ago.

she made it from a terry towel, bits of lace and cute Buzzin' Bee printed fabric.

I had made myself a Bee themed apron about 8 or 9 years ago with a cute Bee themed design on blue fabric.. I woill have to search through my apron bins to find it.. wish me luck.
I'll post pics when I find it.

We are sunny and warm today. Weeded my pots on the porch. Silly dog (we just rescued last month) decided to build a nest with the weed pile. MMmmm she's a silly girl. Most of my nastursiums are sprouting--love it. Only found some rogue arugula in the garden bed. So far just weeds coming up.
Love the idea of a garden theme. Wouldn't a banner with vintage seed packets in the background be great for this year?

Sylvia... luv the idea of vtg seed packages for a banner.
Hmmm you could go on 'pintrest ' and collect some graphics or anywhere on the internet ... save in a file and then you could use inkjet printer paper... the kind that you copy an image and then once printed, you iron on the image to clean white cotton fabric.
You can buy the iron on image printer paper at JoAnns Fabric stores.
Have fun!

I also love the garden, pollinator them! We currently have two hills of lavenders in our back yard, planted them 12 years ago when we relocated, Just love them! The bees also love the lavenders all summer long and it's so peaceful to sit on our patio near one of the lavender hills with a good book, listen and watch the bees go about their hard work! I will have to think about what potted plants to plant this year that will be pollinator friendly and anything else I can come up with to celebrate. A beautiful new garden flag or two, for sure! We have about another 2 months here before we can really start planting with out anything freezing!

I have the perfect fabric for the banner. It is vintage seed packets. This isn't the one I have, these are small.

Love all these fabrics, but how to find time to sew when there's so much to do out in the garden ;)
