Oh my gosh ladies!

I have had my car since late 2001. It was used, but still very new when I bought it.

At first it was my "baby" and I cleaned and took care of it like a maniac. However after a few car accidents (some my fault some not) and a very hectic life, taking care of my car fell by the wayside.

Since I am having a baby in April I started to look at my car and started to think- "i;m going to put my baby in this!?!"

So yesterday, even though I probably could have used the money in a different way, I caved to temptation and left it with a car detailing place for an interior deep clean.

And WOW! I had totally forgotten what the true color of my upholstery was! It is amazing and it smells great! They even got all to cracks and crevices and did the professional version of Armor-All on all my vinyl.

I know they didn't use organic shampoos, but the air in my car feels so much better to breathe now, it makes me wonder what pollutants I was breathing before!

Anyway I just had to share!

Alee

Mine could sure use it!! I have never had my old mini van detailed but sure let it go on the inside in winter more than the rest of the year...I think because it is too dang cold to be out there in the car cleaning!!
good for you!

OH, there is nothing better than a clean car, unless it is a clean house!
Alee, before I had my last baby, I did the same thing "How can I put a newborn baby in this GROSS car!" We had someone clean it and after that I have TRIED to stick to the "no food in the car rule."

Enjoy your clean car!

I got my car detailed last September, after many summer trips to the beach and camping. Boy did it ever need it. I was glad to get it done. Which reminds me, after the salt and sand and slush of winter, I should do it again.

Is it expensive to get this done? I didn't know you could take your car somewhere and have someone do it. Ours is fairly new but with it being so cold who wants to be out there cleaning it? Now, maybe if I had a garage I would do it. Actually, we have a garage but it is full of equpment for hubby's business so the cars do not fit in there.

When we bought my dad's truck we had it detailed and it cost $180. It's a big truck - 3/4 ton, extended cab, long bed. It turned out so nice!! They even steam cleaned the engine. It looked like a brand new truck off the lot!!!! I don't know what a car would cost. We really, really need to have it done again...hopefully this spring. It's been years - I can't imagine what they will charge us now.

Just to have the outside handwashed, the door sills washed, and the car shampooed and armor-all'ed it was $100. If they would have done a full detailing that would include a super extreme wash of the whole car, waxing and lots of buffing and an engine wash it would have been $200. I would LOVE to have my car professionally waxed but I will probably do that myself once the weather is nicer- possibly a good workout to get my abs back in shape after baby comes! lol

Alee,

I have been thinking the same thing whenever I load little Stella in our car. With years of dirt roads and dirt and, yes, eating and drinking in the car, it's filthy! Where did you get it done in Moscow, if you don't mind me asking? It's on the long list of things to do...

I hope you are feeling well and fabulously pregnant! You've been in my thoughts.

Hi Meg!

So great to hear from you! I have been thinking about you and MaryJane a lot lately too.

I had it done at Atti-Tint which is at the corner of highway 8 and Washington (kind of around the corner from SouthSide Mini Mart). I also know Palouse Multiple Services will do it, but I am not sure where they are at or what their prices are.

I am doing much better now and can't believe that I only have 2 short months left! I hope you and Stella are doing great!

Thanks Alee! I'll have to check it out. Good to hear you are feeling good. And not much longer, although I shouldn't say that because it probably feels like an eternity to you. Did you find out if you are having a boy or a girl? I keep hoping to run into you at the coop so I can see you all pregnant and adorable! I am having the time of my life with little Stella. Thanks for the detailing info!
