I have been trying to apply for various merit badges... Every time I apply for one that I try to attach a picture to, however, it tells me "500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed." I get a similar message when I try to put pictures here on the forum. I'm starting to wonder if my internet is just not high speed enough :( Is there a way to email in pictures? That can be added to my badges by the office?

Hi Shannon,
Sorry that you've been having problems. I tried uploading a picture from my computer on a badge application and didn't run into any problems. My first guess is that you might be running into an error with the name of your picture file. Special characters (& * / % ? ' " for example) can cause an error. Do you have any special symbols in the name of the file?
Can you double check that? I'm sure we can figure this out.
You can also email pictures in to go along with an application. Email them to (meritbadges@maryjanesfarm.org) and be sure to say which badge the picture is for. It's probably easiest for us to have you only email one badge's pictures in a single email. If you are doing multiple badges. Send multiple emails with pictures attached. That way there's no guesswork as to which picture goes to which badge.

There aren't any symbols in it :( I just tried to send another one with a picture attached, and got the same response. The name was "P1070309.jpg" I'll be retyping it and sending the picture in via email.

Well the email came in fine and the image seems to load ok at least here on the chat room. Have you tried uploading your image from a different browser?

Hmm you know - I haven't done that. Let me try using Safari on the next one and I'll let you know if that works :) Interestingly, I cannot upload pictures here on the forum either - so maybe it is the browser... will be back....

I need to order a cord for my new computer... it doesn't come with a USB port or card slot to upload pictures :( Actually... let me try emailing myself the picture, download it and then upload it that way. I'll be back...

Morning Brian. I realized I never posted on here the results of my trial... it didn't work :( I emailed myself the pictures from computer one to computer 2, downloaded them, and then tried to post them here on the main forum... and it said the same thing about the internal server error. I was debating if it was my internet with having moved here... but i've posted here on the forum sine then. My old computer (the one that died) was the one I use to post off of, but it too was a Mac, so I don't know why it would have worked and these don't!

Can you copy the error (as well as the URL of the error) and email those to me? brianogle@maryjanesfarm.org
This is really weird because it sure sounds like things SHOULD be working. :(

Hi Brian. I sent you an email with a screenshot of the error message when I tried to upload the picture on the main forum. I'm now sending you another email with the screenshot and URL from trying to put in for another badge.
