...if you'll show me yours.

Do we have a forum already for sharing photos of our farms? Forgive me if we do, and I haven't found it. Here's a pic I took last spring of our place in Virginia. Just found it hiding on my hard drive and wanted to share it. The little area on the left in the foreground is our "frog pond." It miraculously attracted an army of frogs two years ago when we created it. What a racket they send up during their mating season -- almost enough to interfere with ours! It has fish now, too. Very soothing.

NOTE: Girls, I've removed the improperly uploaded photo link here in noble attempt to conserve bandwidth. I think I was more successful later on. Go see, if you're interested. Sorry for all the bother!!

Rosemary..not sure if it's just on my PC, but I can't see your picture. If it's not me, could you post again? I'd still like to see.

It's not the way you're linking; I just tried and it's not working for me, either (yes, I snuck in and stole the photobucket addy where it should be posted.) Not sure why it's a dead link...

Here's mine from a couple weeks ago when we were full of snow!

Here's my little place. It's soooo nice and quiet. In the back behind my place my neighbor has cows so I can watch them and the horses investigate eachother.

Here's my place last fall. All the maples in the yard turn different colors! It's quaint, but the inside is amazing!

Here's my two horses, Buster on the left and Star on the right. Ive had Star since I was 10!

How are you girls suceeding in posting your photos, while I'm not? Did you do something different from the instructions given in our FAQ?

Tracey, your pooch and mustang are wonderful. Cutest pooch EVER! Beautiful sheep! And Quiet Storm, well. I like your house; looks cozy.

Christine, your place is sweet. And imagine having Star since you were 10! That's prime-time for girls to be horse-crazy, isn't it? I have neighboring farmers with cattle, too. Unfortunately, one of them doesn't take very good care of his electric fence and his animals get onto our property. His bull has been particularly destructive. The other cattle farmer is great. He used to live in our house, so when I have to figure out what sort of creative plumbing I'm dealing with and things like that, I can usually get some useful guidance from him. Two other neighbors have horses -- quite a few, all told. Nice to have all that within earshot and not have to do any of the work! ;-)

Your farms are so peaceful looking! I would love to have cows nearby. At the 4H fair last fall, our tent was right near the cow and oxen barn and even though their mooing woke us up kind of early, I LOVED it!! We didn't even need our alarm clock (my cell phone..ha ha ha!)Farm life kicks technology's @#%!! Someday I'll get a picture of my farm up here.
Tracy, your animals are beautiful. It's so cute how they're all posing for the picture. My goats used to love it when I took their pictures. They are such hams for a camera!

I'd rather live my life with a "full plate" than an empty one. Life is not a rehearsal... eat up!

Yes, Cristine, that's the code I used, with my specific picture info, of course.

I'm in Fauquier County, Virginia. Hope to see you at the meet-up Georgann is suggesting!

Rosemary, I've no clue why your's isn't posting. When you bring up your photo bucket account, do you click on the html that says image? And do you get the little yellow text box telling you it's been copied? That's what mine does. Then all I have to do is right click on the text box here at the forum; it's all ready to post for you...or at least it should be. I'm not finding anything in your link that is out of the ordinary

I know. I did everything right.

Thanks for confirming for me that I'm not crazy! And of course, I see the photo just fine, both times I posted it. Maybe something's weird with the way I saved my photo and uploaded it. I'll try redoing it. And THEN, I give up *sob*

Aha! I had the mode set for CMYK rather than RBG. If that means nothing to you, count yourself lucky. It goes with what I do for a living, though. But enuff o' that! If I'm lucky, I will be able to pull the curtain aside now and reveal to ya'll...

Don't give up yet, Rosemary! I sent you this message by e-mail, but in case you didn't get it, have you checked out Gabe's ultra-detailed photo posting instructions here? If not, you may find your answer there - here's the link:[http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6290]. Greatest of luck to ya'!!!

Thank you, Tina!

Libbie, Rosemary is doing it right, but for some reason the link just isn't working. I tried her link as well, and it won't come up for me, either

Okay. I got some sleep, did the coffee thing, squared my shoulders and re-read the FAQ. I see where PhotoBucket makes your photo look like a negative (yep, mine did) if there's something wrong with it. Someone said that earlier, but it went right through my head the way money goes through my fingers. So I re-saved the photo at a slilghtly smaller JPEG quality, created a new PhotoBucket account in case the old one had bugs in it, and the negativity went away -- yippee, progress! So maybe now this'll work:

ps: Oops! I just saw that Tracey did the deed for me. Thanks Tracey and Libbie for your off-stage prompting. I've taken my photo down in the interest of conserving bandwidth and so there won't be an embarrassment of Rosemary's farmhouses where there was previously just embarrassment.

Rosemary, your house was indeed worth the wait. I've never tried photobucket because there seemed to be too many instructions. Maybe I'll have to grabTracey and she could walk me through it. My pictures are on my Strawberry Hills blog. Anyhoo, so far I have enjoyed everyone scenery. MB

LOL, Rosemary, with a house that lovely there's no embarrasment in showing it twice! And I don't think photos take up bandwidth here as they're actually stored on another site (photobucket, in this case.) As I understand it, this site just projects the image

Thanks again, Tracey. You know, for someone who makes her living using computers (for graphic design), I am just spectacularly dumb about all this stuff. Oh well! My husband tells me I have compensatory virtues.
