I just wondered if there were other farmgirls like me who keep umpteen projects going at the same time and what are you working on? At present, I finally have half of my quilt top pieced and sewed together, two afghans are sitting in front of my chair, Jenny has inspired me to try my hand at tea towels, so I started one of those last night and I think I have three orders for purses, one diaper bag and one child's purse. Unfortunately, I am one of those people who cannot focus on one project, finish it and then move on to the next one. I have to keep my sewing room and kitchen in a mess, besides it is a lot more fun than housework. Kathy

Kathy, I understand comletly. I am the same way. I am trying to get a website up and running for the farm, with handmade goodies as well, also to put on etsy. By doing this, lets see.... I have rag dolls, potpourri jars, doilies, and an afgan going. I bounce a little to keep it always fresh feeling. I love to do it, but I also love housework and I bake pies and dessert everyday which is just as much fun.

I always have lots of projects going at once too...I could never focus on just one at a time. I am amazed by gals that can do that!!

Kathy! You are a woman after my own heart! I would definitely rather be working on one of many projects than cleaning! I always have a bunch going but am trying very hard to complete two at a time so I get more done in the long run.I have an ugly quilt project that I keep leaving because it is for someone else but what they picked is dreadful so I need a break from it!

I was just saying this yesterday! I ALWAYS have a bunch of things I'm in the middle of...I'm easily sidetracked and easily bored. I have 3 aprons that are cut out and in some state of construction, 3 felt projects (2 bags and a hat) that still need to be worked on and 1 that just needs a lining, 2 Roman shades that need rings sewn on and mounted, 1 pair of drapes that need to be put together, a dishrag I'm knitting, 2 single slippers (out of 2 different pairs) I'm crocheting.... PLUS at least as many books I'm in the midst of reading... I refuse to go back into my 'long-unfinished' list which includes projects started years ago. I'm setting up a schedule for the housework and in the schedule, I'm putting in Mom's sewing time in the evenings so I can have undisturbed time to sew. I'm excited about this.

Let's see...I am needlepointing a stocking, working of my dancing veggie towels from MJ's book, and keeping up with the kids' scrapbooks. I actually have a working list of all of the projects I want to do after graduation in May, so this summer may be a crafting extravaganza at my house. Grad school had put all the fun stuff at the bottom of my to-do list. I did feel guilty this morning, because my mom said the boys would be grown before I finished their stockings. I guess I may need to work a bit harder on completing that one! |

Chix, I think you and I are on the same wavelength! I am planning a scarf for sister and another for grandson (already bought the yarn), have a Buckeye star quilt top on the back burner, I felted an old sweater and made the "bag" part of the purse and have attached a "sewing strip" to the handles - I am puzzling over what to use for the lining and how to attached the handles so they can be removed for cleaning later. I'm also making a purse from a pair of jeans shorts (currently on sale for $1 each at our local thrift shop, just need to figure out how I'm going to make them "mine". )
I also have a pair of socks 3/4 done, a handknit sweater with 1 sleeve finished, a machine-knit sweater front and 1/2 back done, and a machine-knit prayer shawl 3/4 finished (have a mistake I have to rip out about 20 rows)
I've got machine-embroidered pot holders in various stages of completion and some terry kitchen towels cut and hemmed, ready to knit toppers for.
I'm working on my knitting journal. I've got some calendars from last year put away to make some of Mary Jane's calendar tote bags, and I am thinking of felting a tote bag I knit from wool last year, trying to decide whether to embroider flowers on before or after felting.
If I actually went downstairs and looked I would probably find some more projects. Oh, I almost forgot - I bought a half-finished afghan at an auction... Can't decide whether to rip it out or finish it! And the crewel project I started 15 years ago and never finished? Should I just throw it away?

I am cutting strips for a log cabin quilt. Embroidering a farm scene on an old flour sack towel for a pillow for my dad. Embroidering ornaments. My list isn't to bad right now! I WANT to start a couple of more things, but fortunately or unfortunately, haven't had the time!
