Yes, I joke that I have Bluegrass in my blood. That brings me to another thought: my blood type is B positive. Could that be why I'm an optimist?

Young Trip Hazard is visiting the vet today. If he's old enough he will have a life altering procedure. On a more serious note, my daughter in FL had been home because a member of her office had COVID. Yesterday when she was dressing for work she got horrible stomach cramps. At the hospital they think its IBS but put her in the COVID ward just in case. Her dad is ready to fly down to help her, although he probably won't be able to see her.

Trip has discovered that it is fun to knock things off the sewing table.

!!!Sorry about your daughter---hope she doesn't have covid-19. So scary. Trip is cute---I have raised many, many kittens and I am tooo old and tired to raise another one. But they are such fun---such good memories of my babies. I raised two two years ago. It was winter and they were horrible---tearing up the whole house. I swore never again---a lot of which because at my age a cat could outlive me. Anyway---enjoy.

Yesterday Oskar ran out in front of a pickup and got rolled around under it. We took him to the emergency vet. No broken bones or spinal problems thank goodness, but he is sore. He's at the regular vet for care and this afternoon we'll probably take him home. I am happy we had money to pay for this, although my brother and sister in law paid close to $10,000 to get rocks out of their dogs stomach.

I do understand!!! A few years ago a dumb ass delivery man came down here when he was looking for my neighbors and he pulled out and hit my pug. I did not know until he was gone, We had almost five thousand dollars in bills for two broken hips. We both knew then how much we loved that pug. Nothing I could have bought with that money could have made us happier than her recovery. We had to take her to Virginia Tech----which is quite aways---but she is alive and mean as ever and makes us laugh every day, How we do love our animals!!! They bring such joy to our lives, Children tooo---of course.

Here's Oskar Meyer, a sadder but hopefully wiser dog. The driver of the truck felt awful about the accident. He also dropped by on Wednesday to ask how Oskar was.

August is pet month here. First Tina had some pain, then Oskar, now our senior cat Shrek has a swollen eye. The vet is really getting to know our menagerie.

Oh I so agree---we had so many vet trips one month---that he laughed at us and said----at one last fourth trip in a month with injured animals----he said maybe this will hold them together a little while. He saw our animals die there---oh so much sorrow. So many horrid animal endings. Life on the creek is much better---the vet comes here to do our shots and we rarely have injury. Life on the creek is good---we did live by a busy highway and that doesn't go well with animals. We are so at peace and relaxed here. Beautiful cat---we have a grey one too. One of my neighbor rejects. Thank God they have moved. Cat pollution is bad and I have to help them all. Crazy Lady---I guess.

My husband said the vet should have a special "Ferrell Room"! I've been gearing up for our church's free yard sale (80% chance of rain, so it will be inside) folding and sorting clothes and deciding how to be generous yet limit what folks get. Plus we have our German student, Mia, who will be here through the school year. She is sweet, enthusiastic, and can cook, so i have enlisted her for Tuesdays (when we send the paper- I'm usually wiped out).

All that do sound fun. Maybe me---but hubby is such a loner that I have given up---have learned to love the aloneness and can die alone and face it. So happy to hear of all you do.

Tina is excited by the garden harvest. She loves the small tomatoes. I picked some spaghetti squash and will be serving it soon. The weeks are going by quickly. Mia has games 2-3 times a week, and we drive her and cheer her on. She's becoming familiar with the rules and how to play. We heard from my daughter in South Florida. She was sent home with pay because a coworker had COVID, and when she was tested, she was positive too. She thinks that she caught it on the flight back from Kentucky after Labor Day. She didn't have symptoms though, so its hard to know how or when she got it.

Exactly! I always followed CDC guidelines for the good of the community but now that someone near and dear caught COVID, it is personal. She felt worse last night and went to a hospital. They saw something serious on an x-ray and put her on a breathing machine. There are still folks who refuse to wear masks here, as I suppose are in other communities, and while they have the right to their beliefs they are mistaken if they think their beliefs will protect them from COVID.

Mia forgot her Chromebook today, so I quickly drove to the school with it. Is this the next "forgotten lunchbag"?

She took another test and is COVID free. She'll be back at work Monday. She's hoping to get a job in Palm Beach dispatch.

This is the new toy my sweetie got for me. It is wonderful! No more slipping as I cut fabric. I will need to get the special tool that changes the blade. So although he has many faults, this is why we've lasted almost 40 years.
