Today I looked through all of the squares I have received.
I love the retro squares...takes me back to my childhood at grandma's country home, as well as our family kitchen, and even the home making lab at school. This is a fun swap. School will begin next week. Hadlee has classes every afternoon at beauty school. I am on the sub list at my favorite country school once more, but I am planning some serious sewing time as well.

Good for you, Marilyn, saving some time for yourself and sewing projects. I thought about subbing, but would lose some SS benefits if I did, so decided not to.

Finally I have my fabric in the envelopes, addressed and all stamped. They are going in the box this morning. So sorry for the delay. I appreciate everyones patience :) P.S. I was rushing so only put my last name in the return address area. When you get one that says "Martin", its me :) I'm ordering return address labels today :P

Got fabric from Doris, Christy and Judith. Love them all. Judith, ice cream is my downfall. I just ate some. Every night I swear I will start my diet tomorrow. That's after I eat the ice cream! LOL!

Linda, I don't know who Irma is. LOL! Maybe somebody's home ec teacher!

Denise, I think you are Correct because she looks to be from the fifties, sort of the look of Betty Crocker. I do not know what changed, but I do not think we ever looked like that. I remember those homemakers, including my mother, everything was so perfect...the wash was done, the house was spotless, their hair and dress and apron were perfect when the man of the house appeared after his long day of earning a living. Oh yes there sat that lovely tall chocolate cake, three or four layers.

Denise your fabrics arrived today. I have never seen any cook stoves or ranges before. Too cool. The other one is pretty YUM, also. Thank you.

Soo much fabric... Soo many projects! I have all or nearly all of the fabrics. I love the red and black theme going.
A secondary color scheme of muted colors and soft beige/aqua pastels. I'll make a quilt, or table cloth from the red/black theme. Not sure about the lovely pastels. Hmmm.
Suggestions ladies?

Love that Irma Harding link, Denise. Thanks so much. I may have to try the Pickled Watermelon Rind recipe. LOL!

And Marilyn, I don't remember our house being that straight, laundry done, and canning on the stove. My mother worked, too, and didn't get home until about 30 minutes before my father got honme. Saturday was the day to get everything done. LOL!

I, too, got Christy and Denise's fabrics. I love all the fabrics. Haven't seen the recipe fabric or the stoves anywhere. Everyone's fabric choices are so great!

I've got all but 2 sets of squares. Thinking of projects.
