Good idea about the milk jugs. If I had chickens I'd do that, too.

I just got an email saying that Michaels Stores (crafts, etc.) is purchasing the customer data base of Hancocks fabrics...(which filed for bankruptcy early this year)and Michaels will begin having fabrics to sell. Here in Texas Hancocks and JoAnns were the two major fabric stores in large cities. JoAnns sells sewing machines, fabrics and a lot of craft supplies. Hancock did not add the crafts and slowly began to lose ground. Sadly they are done. But now if Michael's can deal with growing pains we will have more fabrics to choose from.

WOW! I've always liked JoAnns better than Hancocks, I wonder how much fabric Michaels will carry. I like Hobby Lobby fabrics selection, too.

Michael's will carry the fabric online only, for now anyway.

Hobby Lobby does not carry a lot of fabric, but I love their choices.

Wow! I loved today's mail! DH came out with a stack and it was all for me! Besides fabric there was a post card and Hen House recipes!
Today I received fabrics from:
Kathleen D- (love that envelope) I've seen lots of wine bottle fabric. I think this one is my fave. Quite different.
Becky D- I do get a kick out of anything retro! Those yummy treats make me want to bake.
Darlene M- both squares kind of tell stories. Thank you.
Sherry B- I collect those kitchen scales. So this was a fun fabric! Thanks, again, for labeling them!
Bev M- More retro! Yipee!
Thank you everyone!
Hope to have mine cut and mailed this weekend!

Goody I got Bev and Sherry's fabrics. So nice.

Mine are ready to mail Monday.

Betty, oh my a snake bite! I am petrified of snakes. Keep a close eye on it because of getting an infection. I'm sure they told you if it gets worse beyond the marking to get back to the ER. You are in my prayers. Whenever you get to the fabric is fine. That is not the priority now. Feel better.

Kathy, you are such a good chicky mommy! The heat and humidity have been wicked! I'm sure those jugs feel good.

Is everyone washing their fabric before they cut it? I usually do, but will stop if unwashed is preferred. I ordered fabric for this swap from Fabric.com and it came Friday. I'll be sending my squares out this week :)

Haven't opened the puffy envelopes I've received in the mail. Saving it to open all at once.

That's awesome news about Michael's carrying fabric from Hancock's, Thank you to Cristy, Linda O., Darlene, Becky,
Marilyn, B.Mastroianni, Mary, and Sherry. The materials sent are beautiful. They will be lots of fun to work
with, For two weeks I've been taping and bedding and painting getting our house ready to put on the
market. I hope I never have to paint another ceiling. I had most of the paint on me instead of the ceiling.
So I can't wait to take a break and start sewing the beautiful squares. Kathleen

Have a blessed day. Farmgirl Sister #6701

Boo Hoo! I haven't gotten any more fabric squares for 3 days!!! I'm in fabric mail withdrawal.

I'm going to post the next 10" square fabric swap in a few minutes - with a theme of SEWING. I've seen fabric with safety pins, measuring tapes, thread, sewing machines, etc. Let's see what you can come up with from the fabric stores - on line or in person.

Please check the new post in a few minutes.

Here it is the 10th already. My apologies Farm Girls! I haven't mailed my fabric squares yet. (due to circumstances beyond my control). I will be addressing envelopes this afternoon. So much happening in this house right now.

Okay..I feel much better. I cut out one of my fabrics today and addressed all of the envelopes. Tomorrow afternoon I will cut out the second fabric, iron and mail. Only one day late. I think being late with this swap is a first for me. I was so stressed.

It has been such fun receiving the packages of fabric!

A couple of them barely made it through the posting machine. Fortunately the fabrics were unharmed, but one of the envelopes was almost in half. I put a piece of cardboard in with the ones I sent and Katherine sent hers in a card. Any other suggestions of better ways to send them so they are post office proof?

From all I have received it seems to me that folding and pressing the squares in thirds, then fold one end over about an inch and a half and press down, works well. When these go in the envelope the fold overs should be on opposite ends. This week I received one in a small square envelope, so the squares were folded in half, pressed and inserted. You could not even tell fabric was inside. Putting a piece of cardstock inside helps(with a #10 business envelope) as do heavier envelopes. I received one this week where the fabric had slipped inside the envelope and was bunched up in the middle. The fabric was folded in half then in half again, lengthwise with an end flipped over. Extra postage was due on it. So I think we all continue to search for the best way to get it safely to our people. I am thinking a square envelope next. We shall see.
