Got my first 2 envelopes!

Linda - fresh veggies & kitchen rules. How cute is that?
Cristy - Apples & fruit words. They go together so well.

I'll be cutting my squares today & mailing them out tomorrow. I'm going to fold them into cards, so maybe I won't have a problem with that pesky postal machine.

Hugs and Squishies!!

Kathy

Just a note to all - I used 4 fabrics from my stash for this swap. You may not receive the same 2 fabrics someone else got.

Sorry you missed it, Rebecca. I hope you will join in on the next one. Sherry mentioned a theme I had also thought of and I think that will be next. Stay tuned. LOL!

Received fabric from Christy Marxsen, Kathleen, Linda and Marilyn. Love every one of them. Hadlee did a great job! This is a great swap. Seems like I say that for every one! LOL!

I am missing Hadlee today. They left at 3:40pm yesterday. At some point my son decided to drive straight through. About nine last night Hadlee began texting me. She was bored. They were leaving Oklahoma. After about an hour later she was finally ready to sleep. So was I. They were near Des Moines about 7:00am, and my son was still driving. When I called him about nine to say HAPPY Birthday, he was trying to nap while Julie drove the rest of the way.

My son used to drive for hours straight like that. Ed used to drive straight through to Indiana to pickup trailers. I insist we stop, though we often end up sleeping in the vehicle. LOL! At least we stop to rest.

I know, rest. Wade drove straight through when they were young, no kids. But then he would take breaks when the girls were small to let them out of the confinement of car seats. This was his first marathon drive in years. The girls want to go to the county fair. I think that was why he chose to go on. They are probably at her sister's now.

I received Kathleen and Mary's fabrics today. I, too, have had numerous ladybugs in my kitchen. And wine often helps the cook. Love all the fabrics.

Today I received two kitchen squares from Becky in New Mexico and two more from Darlene Mossman. Thank you ladies they are just perfect...and pretty. This is exciting. I am thinking of making a picnic throw...no batting, 10 inch squares for the top, with a solid backing, to use on the grass or on a table.

Hey Marilyn,
I'm glad you received them. I sent those awhile ago, so I was anxious to see how long it actually takes to get to everyone!

My great grandma use to have a quilting circle, which met under her pecan trees. I remember this vividly. I think that's what planted the "seed" to my love of quilting. Wish we had a quilting circle!!!

Mine are going to be a little late. I was snake bit this morning. I am home. It is what they call a dry bite, no venom injected. Leg is some swollen. I am to watch it and go back to er if it changes. Area is marked with ink around to monitor it. I was out feeding and watering at the barn. There is some tall grass around in places. I have no idea when it happened as I am always bumping into stuff. I was pulling a hose around so don't know if I yanked it off or what. Only noticed it kept hurting when I came inside and saw 2 blood spots. I was wearing my muck boots and it bit above boot. I have received some envelopes I have not opened yet. So I will be opening them soon!

Take care of yourself, Betty. We can wait for your squares.

Yesterday I received squares from Sherry, Becky, and Darlene M. I really do love these squares. Sherry - you find some of the best fabrics - I've not seen them even in quilt stores. Thanks, all.

I received Mary D's squares yesterday! Thank you, Mary! Now, I know what ladybugs the ladies are talking about. Ha! ...and, I am a goner for gingham! I hope to cut my fabric this afternoon.

Betty-we can wait for your squares. You just be careful. A snake bite is nothing to hiss at! I'm praying for you. We weed wack as much as we can so the snakes can't hide from us. We have black rat snakes & something brown. Can't catch one, so I can't identify it.

I received squares from Mary, Darlene, Cristy & Becky. All so pretty.

I like the idea of making a tablecloth too.

Boy isn't it hot! My poor chickens are all hiding in the tall weeds. I freeze gallon jugs of water & put them around the barn and they lay as close to them as possible.

Hugs and Squishies!!

Kathy

That is a good idea about the milk jugs, Kathy. Mine have been spending their time under the crepe myrtles, where the ground is cool because I am watering.
