Amazingly, today I got two letters from Texas!

Happy cows (I love cows!) & Homegrown squares from Mary.

Roosters & flowers AND a great recipe from Doris (South Forty).

Only six more anticipated letters to come.

I have been having so much fun looking at the fabrics, moving them around, thinking of the quilt it may become. Oh my.....this swap is almost over.

When is the next signup? And what will the theme be?

Hugs and Squishies!!

Kathy

Doris and Mary, I received you wonderful fabrics today. Doris, nice extra touch with the recipe and verse! We are all so blessed to have each other. I laugh at myself sometime when I keep looking at and touching the fabric! Oh what fun!

Happiness in my mailbox again! Thanks to Mary D. & Denise C. More fun patterns and I am so excited I'm ready to start stitching by hand (the sewing machine is in the other room and we are keeping a beside vigil). But I will resist the urge and wait until all are received and actually PLAN a quilt. Although, these are so adorable that I want to make a pillow or something fancy with each one. I think that I'll be sooooo protective of a quilt that I might not be able to even let others "enjoy" it by allowing them to touch it!! Ha ha. Y'all know what I mean, I'm sure!

Rebecca W.(Beccalou), I received your fabric today! Cowgirls, of course, and bandannas. I love them.

Doris, I received your fabric also! Roosters and flowers! And, just like a FarmGirl...you added a yummy recipe! Loved your happy inks too!

Omgosh, Mary! What a cutie cow! Really love your "local grown" fabrics too!

Thank you, girls! Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

So many wonderful farm girl fabrics. I was out of town for a while and came home to a virtual avalanche of fun designs- probably 80% of everything was in my mailbox. Just finished gathering them together today.
I've go a pattern planned, based on triangles and 1 1/2 strips.

So excited to get started!!

Beverley, It was Sherry who bought her brown envelopes and that stamp at Hobby Lobby, I believe. Sherry is very creative, always.

I'm planning on making a "Farmgirl" quilt too. The plan is to add a plain muslin to the pile of great colorful fabrics and making half-square triangles. I'll play with the design a bit, but I'm leaning towards a starburst pattern. I'll add sashing around the border and see just how big it'll end up. Of course, I'll have to wait for the rest of the fabrics to arrive, but that's my plan.

Hugs and Squishies!!

Two more envelopes came today:
Rebecca - I love, love, LOVE the little cowboys & cowgirls! Where did you get fabric? I NEED some. Also, the bandana fabric matches it so well.

Brenda - Loving the two horse fabrics. Jenny (daughter) wants them both.

Thank you ladies.

Only 4 more to go (waiting is horrible!!)

Hugs and Squishies!!

I got Brenda's horses and Rebecca's horses today. Makes me want to saddle up and ride off into the sunset. We had horses until 2007 when our last one left us. We had horses 38 years. Still miss them! Sigh! The fabrics are fabulous!

My son has horses, lots and lots of horses. This spring there were four new babies, very cute. Sometimes I help with watering chores. That is about a two hour job each morning, and more in the evenings. He trains them to be team roping horses.

Marilyn, that is fantastic. Wish I lived nearby. My husband and I would be there to help. I'm sure you are near a lot of rodeos. What a blessing you have there. How is our Hadlee doing at camp? She is a miracle. God is good all the time isn't he?

Hi farmgals!
I received 3 more packages today. Thanks for the horses from Michigan, and the sweet pigs and produce fabrics from Kathleen. (the envelope says 21 cents due, but apparently my mail person didn't enforce it!!).
Rebecca, your fabrics are adoreable. I think I may have seen the cowgals at Hobby Lobby, and the bandana fabric is awesome. I'm particularily interested in your return address label. I have a Shasta 16 SCS that I lOVE. Is your Shasta a new one or vintage?
Have a great day, and thanks everyone.

Yes God is good. Hadlee did fine at camp. She solved the problem of friends to hang out with by choosing to visit with the two nurses when she did her growth hormone injections and the band members. She is with adults here at home, and having lived her life, is more mature than the kids her age. She attended all of the activities and was able to eat most of the meals. Sadly when she got home my son told her that Cookie the kitty had died. She was about 18 months old and her sister was almost five when we visited the pound and they could not leave without a kitten. The kitty lived with us for almost 15 years, but became very ill this week. I took her to the vet this afternoon and they put her down. Hadlee went into uncontrollable sobs when she heard, came to our house and wanted to see Cookie. We opened the box and she touched her, petted the furry body and sobbed. After we calmed her down, I explained what had happened to Cookie. She accepted that. Then we asked her about camp. Finally she went home for a nap. I was thankful that I did not try to find a vet last night. I knew how Hadlee would react. But as you said, God is good. He does take care of us.

Marilyn, I am so sorry about the loss of Cookie. Poor Hadlee. As an animal lover myself I have experienced the loss of many animals. I no longer have a dog in the house because when I had to put my Jackie down in Dec. 2014,I just thought I would die myself. Can't do it anymore. Hadlee is young and will have many more pets in her life. It still doesn't stop the pain now. She and you are in my prayers. What a tender heart she has.

Thanks Darlene. Hadlee and her sister both have sweet caring spirits. I understand you not wanting to go through the loss of another pet. My husband is the pet lover here. He has two small dogs and a cat too. He takes good care of them. I am afraid of falling over one of them, but thankfully God has kept me upright so far. Have an awesome fourth of July.
