Marilyn,
So sorry to hear about the loss of Cookie, that is so sad, and sorry that Hadlee was so sad. Its so hard to lose a pet.
I received more fun farm girl mail today!! Yay!! I love all the fabrics!, Thank you for the recipe, Doris it looks so good and refreshing. I am going to iron these squares and add them to the stack, what fun I'm going to have thinking of a way to use them.
I need to finish a table runner I started in April from red white and blue fabric, it has "wonky" squares, if I finish it I will post a picture in the UFO postings. Better get a move on July 4th is coming up really fast. I have my patriotic fabric stack from last summer but I am hoarding it for some unknown reason...

I want to go out to the mailbox, but we're having a pretty good thunderstorm right now. I didn't go out earlier because I just got out of my pajamas 2 hours ago, supposed to go to the Twins game, I do not think its going to happen.

Marilyn, please give Hadlee a hug for me! Bless her sweet heart.
It's so hard to lose a pet. I'm sure she was in shock.

We just returned today from a 5 day (spur of the minute) vacation to Minnesota! We really needed that break and had a great time!

We picked up the mail today:
Christy Martin, I love those roosters! These squares are just so much fun!
Brenda, your fabrics were in today's mail also. Somebody loves horses! Very unique designs! Love your envelope art too! Wow!

Yes I did paint the cows. I spent a few years milking those girls, they taught me a lot, and I love to paint them. Please press on the wrong side, or use a cloth to cover Miss MOO, before pressing.

O yes, I forgot, those little fabric pieces are just because... the way the fabrics were printed they were too big for 10" squares. So I cut tem up and sent you each a couple of critters and a tractor.

Marilyn, I love my cow. I may frame her and hang her in my kitchen where I can look at her daily. You are talented! Your fabrics and other squares are great too.
Thank you. How is Hadlee doing?

Hadlee is better. Celebrating the fourth helped her, visiting with friends, watching the parade, etc. took her mind off Cookie. Thanks to all of you for thinking of Hadlee during these days of missing our fur ball.God bless each of you.

Dear Sisters,

Mom was finally released from the bonds of her earth body tonight. She went on to be with her Lord and Savior around 9pm. We had a long time to say goodbye as she was ill for the better part of a year. Thank you to all who've said a prayer for her. She was a very kind and charitable woman who helped complete strangers as well as those she knew well. We give thanks for each day that she graced us with her presence. ((HUGS))

Doris,
I am sorry for the loss of your mother. She is now whole again and in the presence of her Lord. You were lucky to have such a wonderful mother. You are a good daughter to have taken care of her. Be at peace knowing she isn't suffering. Let the tears flow, they are healing. Prayers for you as you go through the days ahead.

Prayers for you and your sister and your families as you lay your mom to rest. It is such a blessing that you will always remember what a good, caring person she was. God bless you as you find your way back to your own life...It will take some time, but just remember that God is with you.

First of all I was so sorry to hear about your Mom Doris. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Got two more "puffy" envelopes today. Thank You! to Mary and Marilyn. Mary your cow and chicken fabric made me smile. The two fabrics you sent blend together great!

Marilyn, wish I could paint like that. I never was very good at drawing or painting. Your cow and chicken made me smile also. Thanks for the little fabric pieces. They're cute!

I am thinking instead of making a quilt out of the squares that I might use the kitcheny squares for a patchwork apron, and the farm/animal themed ones for a patchwork tote bag or two for my farmer's market purchases.
I didn't see who painted the cow, because I've just been tearing envelopes open with excitement and reckless abandon, but I think that would make an adorable centerpiece for one of those items. And the little squares would be good pockets... I'm just so inspired! There will be pictures :)

Doris-I was so saddened to hear of the loss of your much loved mother. I will keep you and your family in my prayers as always. I pray for all my sisters every day.

I am on vacation in Maryland for a week so I may be out of touch for a while. Hopefully my dear daughter, Jenny, won't open any farm girl mail while I am gone. She gets just as excited as I do when I get mail. Especially puffy mail.

Hugs and Squishies!!

Kathy

Marilyn, I'm sorry for your loss of Cookie too. After all, you had her for 15 years. (Don't know what I was thinking..or not thinking).

Judith, you know cats...Cookie, named by the girls, after a favorite book I read to them every day...was the QUEEN. She was a talker, MEOW, fresh water needed; MEOW, more food in my bowl; MEOW, MEOW, MEOW...SALMON JUICE...MEOW! When a woman came into the house and sat down she came out of hiding expecting to be petted and praised. I do miss her. Thank you.
