I wish some of you would also join in on the Block of the Month I started in the Stitching and Crafting Room. May was the first month. One new block pattern or two will be posted each month - each month in a new thread. You will keep all the blocks you make - no swapping. Make the ones you want, in your own colors, and make a quilt when you complete the number you want. We are posting the blocks we make in the thread each month. Take a look and see what we've done.
Here's a link to the initial thread -
http://maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=73863
And here's where the first blocks were posted -
http://maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=73928

Please join us.

Linda, I have misplaced my list of addresses from the last swap, would you please email that to me? with the new ladies joining this time as well :)

Marti -

You aren't very far behind in the BOMs. They just started this month, and you don't have to make both of them. So glad you will be joining us.

I am not sending out the list for the Floral Fabrics swap until the 15th, when the signups end. I will resend you the Girls Fabric list.

Good morning ladies. I just watched a new tutorial by Jenny at Missouri Star Quilts. It is a lattice quilt. She used black lattice But my brain says white lattice goes with summer flowers, which we will soon have arriving in our mail boxes. If you have not already signed up for emails from MSQ, think about it. Shipping is $5. They run a special ever day. A couple of weeks ago I got a charm pack for $.25 plus shipping. A charm pack for $5.25!!! Also her tutorials on you tube are awesome...filled with short cuts. Subscribe to her channel and get updates on new tutorials. If you have not already watched the videos about this company, that began in 2008, you should. It is an amazing story. Have a wonderful day. Hugs to all.

I agree, Marilyn. I love Jenny's tutorials. Many of them use "layer cake" fabric packs - and what are our 10" squares? That's right - we are exchanging Layer Cake squares. Go to the website, sign up for emails, and check out the tutorials. They are great!

Hi Lady's I sent out two packages to you because I wasn't really happy with one of the choices.
So some of you will receive two packages in the #10 envelope. Have fun! Kathleen

Marilyn, I agree, the white lattice would be lovely with the spring flowers and the lattice design is gorgeous. I like to watch Jenny's tutorials as well.

Linda, I'm gonna give this a try. I think of myself as an art-quilter (a fancy way of saying I'm not patient enough to try to measure perfectly so I just wing it!) but it looks like I don't have anything to risk by joining, since we're just swapping photos and chat. And the Lord knows I could quilt across my whole hometown with the fabrics I have collected! Count me in!

I love it Sara. You sound like me. I have made quilts, but never had to read a pattern, someone told me what to do or I "cut and pasted", made it up as I went along. In fact both of the Christmas quilts I made, using real block of the month patterns... neither one went together as they were supposed to. So I had to PUNT! Both are beautiful. My grand daughters each have one. I get to see them at Christmas when they hang them from the railing upstairs in their home. I need to challenge myself to read and try. So... here we go.

HimLinda,
I think I'll join in the fun too!! I'm terrible about making LOTS of UFO's.... But perhaps this will keep me "honest" in getting things done. LOL!!
