I cut, pressed and put fabrics in envelopes. They are ready to go. I have a funny to share. When you receive my fabric you will understand. Several years ago the head of the education department, at our local college, was addressing the group about to begin student teaching. She told them to dress nicely, but be comfortable. Then she said she did not want to see any thongs. The girls looked at each other, a bit bewildered. Finally one hand went up.What did she mean, because if they were nicely dressed, surely she would not be seeing thongs. Finally it sunk in that the college girls were thinking underwear and the dept. head meant flip flops. She then told about the rubber flip flops we wore as kids and how we called them THONGS. They all had a good laugh.

I had some "thongs" as a kid... I called them that until my daughter looked at me like I was nuts, then I had to call them flip flops.

That is so funny! The same thing happened to me. I was driving with my oldest grand daughter one day. I told her we needed to stop so I could get some thongs for vacation. I thought she was going to quit breathing! We had a good laugh too after a discussion. Of course, I got some flip flops.

Thanks for a great laugh, girls. When I heard my mother refer to one of her cousins as having lace on his drawers, I almost wrecked the truck. I had never ever heard that expression before or since. We were driving along a crooked country road in the area where she grew up. Her oral family history lesson was informative and also funny.

LOL I'm splitting a gut here over your funny thong (and drawer) stories. We called them thongs when I was young too, but I since have also started calling them flip flops. too funny. Thanks for the giggles ladies! hahahahahaha

Marilyn, I love your comment about the lace on his drawers. Your mom must have been quite the card.

Yes Judith, my prim and proper mother loosened up a bit as she aged. She actually caused my face to turn red a couple of times. I loved quilts on my beds and that upset her because she grew up during the depression years when everyone was poor. They could not afford a bedspread, so my using quilts meant I could not afford a real bedspread.

My squares were mailed Saturday. Hopefully they will be in your mail boxes soon.

OMG - me, too! I never told my mother slightly off-color jokes. Yet when she got Internet she sent me some worse ones that were sent to her from her friends. LOL! Guess they were feisty ole broads. LOL!

Marilyn, I received your fabrics today.! The puppy fabric is so cute!! ...and, you just know I grinned when I saw all those pretty "thongs". Loved your Texas Blue Bonnet artwork on the envelope! My grand son-in-law recently sent a photo of them blooming around the San Antonio area. A field of Texas Blue Bonnets in bloom is on my bucket list. Thank you.

Oh nuts, I missed signing up for this somehow! I have some really sweet fabrics, too! Oh well, I think I might use them to make my Jubilee egg gathering apron. Waste not, want not! I 'll be very careful and make sure to sign up next time. Meanwhile, I'll enjoying everyone's stories about thongs and drawers -- my what a racy group, hee hee!

Happy Day!

Today I received my girly Disney squares from Kathleen. Thank you so much. Each time I see your name I think of my mother. Her given name was Beulah Kathleen, but her friends called her Kay. Her family called her Kay-lo, Shawnee-Kay, and Shaun.
