This swap involves no sewing (your project is determined by what you want to make with your fabric squares) - only buying fabric and cutting it into 10" squares. Please cut off all selvages before cutting so there is no selvage in the 10" squares. (NOTE: The selvages are the two tightly woven edges of the fabric - opposite the folded edge.)

This is a new swap for 10" squares of Girl-themed Fabrics. Each person who signs up will receive 2 different 10" squares of Girl-themed fabric from each of the other farm girls who sign up. A yard of fabric will make 12 squares, so the amount of fabric you will need to purchase will depend on how many sign up.

Signups begin today: March 21
Signups end: Noon, April 6
Mail out by: April 20

When you sign up by posting in this thread, please immediately send me your name/address/phone. The name/address is so I can send a complete list to each swapper; the phone number is in case I need to contact you for any reason.

We have been enjoying these swaps and it is fun seeing all the different fabrics we choose. I hope you will join us.

Will do, thanks to have you again Denise and Judith.

I have no granddaughters and very little need for girl fabrics, so not sure if I will join in on this one. If I can find some girly fabric in my stash, I may, just to have a girls quilt available if I need one. LOL! Have to think on this one.

I have started a new thread in the Stitching and Crafting Room category where we can showcase any projects made using our 10" squares. Many of us have made quilts, table runners, and other projects using them (Marilyn's Christmas quilts for kids, Beverley's Christmas Quilt, Maryellen's Valentines table runner, Judith's Valentines quilt). This will be our own Virtual Quilt Show. I started it off with my Christmas quilt top. Please join in.

The only reason I ask is cause I live kinda far from the nearest fabric shop and sometimes I need time to pick up certain fabrics. So, I am asking ahead of time so when I go "into town" I can look when I am there. not trying to hurry you or anything like that. Just wondering?

I understand, Beverley. Some of us are not as close to fabric stores as others. The next swaps I have in mind will be for birthday fabrics, farm/farmgirl fabrics, and kitchen/cooking fabrics. Not sure what order.

The kitchen fabrics can be used for table runners, potholders, towel toppers, dish drainer quilts, and other kitchen necessities. Same for the farm/farmgirl fabrics.

I am designing a pattern for a birthday celebration wall hanging. The wall hanging consists of 9 blocks, each block is a present with bow. The center block will have a thin piece of sewing vinyl over it so that a picture of the birthday celebrant can be inserted. The wall hanging will use 9 different prints, and they can be adult, children, or general birthday prints. I will send everyone the pattern and we will exchange birthday print fabrics to use for it.

I finally found two pieces of fabric for girls. I thought it would be easy, like the boys, but it was not. Anyway, I plan to cut and iron tomorrow afternoon and mail Saturday. Now let's see if my plan works. I should have done it this morning, but that was spent watering horses. Oh well.
