...your coffee, tea or other hot beverage of choice? I came to coffee later in my life, and started out with a cup here and there, graduated to 2 pots a day, and realized I needed to cut back, oh, did I mention in addition to the quantity I like my coffe, strong, heavy and black, except for the first cup which I put milk, or soymilk.
To sum it up,if you can stand a spoon in it, I probably will like the coffee!
Happy sipping!

I like my coffee black too! I do like flavored coffees, esp cinnamon. (the coffee is flavored no cream or anything)
I start my day with a 20 0z cup of good old fashioned lipton black tea, straight up. Then a small cup of coffee or two at work. When home from work I have a flavored tea, Stash black tea chai is my fave, to which I add a dash of sugar and milk.
All of that and I am still dozing by 8:00 at night!

No coffee I can't stand the smell. Tea is fine but must have sugar. No flavors just black tea or something like English breakfast. I'm not sure what chai is.

Mmmmm... coffee...!!!

Right now I'm drinking a cup of the Godiva chocolate coffee, black. Between that and the Ghirardelli chocolate coffee, I believe I like the latter better. I don't care for most of the flavored coffees though; it's like they lay the flavoring on too heavy. I don't like much sweet coffee either. I prefer little obscure brands where they roast the beans in small batches. My all time favorite is 100% Kona from Hawaii. Every once in awhile for a special treat, I get some in this orange box from Amazon. It's delightful; Food and Wine magazine rated it one of the five best coffees in the United States. My brother used to send me coffees from Costa Rica too, and they were to die for! And this year a friend sent me a bag of espresso beans from his local folks in Seattle. Boy, do they know good coffee on the Left Coast!

I recently got an espresso machine, and I love making lattes. I really like how I can make it just scalding hot, and how I can make it with as little sweetening as I like. And sometimes I add a bit of Droste and a pinch of sugar to the milk, and run the steamer wand through that!

I don't do it very often though, since I read that the carcinogens in coffee are removed by the filter papers. Espresso machines don't use filter papers.

I'll drink coffee black most of the time, as that lets the flavor of the bean shine through the best. If I drink it with cream, it has to be *real* cream, not that plastic creamer powder or liquid. I really don't like the mouthfeel of that stuff, and it ruins a good cup of coffee. Never sugar unless I'm making a mocha latte or something, and then it's just a tiny bit.

I'm also nuts about tea! To me, Constant Comment is the quintessential Christmas tea, with it's oranges and sweet spice aroma. I also love rooibos tea, Earl Grey tea, and plain ol' Lipton. A friend of mine is married to a Chinese guy, and she goes with her MIL to the Chinese grocery and gets wonderful bulk teas for me. No sugar in tea for me, no cream, and NO CHAI! I really don't like chai.

You made me just realize that I also don't like sweet wines. Always the driest reds and champagnes. I do like a nice liqueur from time to time, though.

Jane, my vet's like you. He wants to be able to bite it off and chew it! I brew mine much milder, but once he told me that he wanted to know if my hubby and I ever split; he said he was going to run off with me because I make good coffee.

I do commit a coffee crime though, and tea too; sometimes I switch it out for decaf, especially later in the day. I just can't handle as much caffeine as my taste buds would like me to!

Denise, if you don't like spices in your tea you probably won't care for chai.

My Husband is the coffee drinker black and strong. He only grinds enough beans for a pot. He loves Kona coffee. I'll have to go to Amazon and order him some. My son does the same thing. When Ben (DS) went to college we bought him his own coffee grinder. I always wondered how many other guys took one to school.

I love coffee!!! I've been drinking it since I was 6 or so--had to be like my dad! I drink mine with cream only--when I'm feeling really decadent, I use whipping cream instead of half and half. Most coffee works for me, not too picky. I really like Choc Full o' nuts, though, and 8 O'clock brand at the house. I'll frequent smaller fair trade coffee shops around town when I'm shopping or feeling like a special drink.

Tea when I'm sick--that's the only time when coffee doesn't sound good--honey lemon chamomile or black tea with sugar only. I love Chai's, though. Wow could I drink a lot of that!

Just think of all of the roads there are...all of the things I haven't seen....yet.

I love coffee, but I'm kinda picky about how its made... I use one scoop coffee to one cup water. This makes coffee you could stand a fork in. ;) I don't buy fancy beans, I used to but just couldn't justify the expense.
To drink it I fill my mug about 3/4 or so maybe a little more, and top it off with international delights french vanilla creamer. According to relatives who visit from Sweden it's fairly close to what they drink at home. After drinking it so strong most other coffee tastes like weak tea to me. So when visiting I usually prepare a thermos with cream already in it. I love chai but my stomach takes exception. When I was in Michigan this past fall I found godiva chilled coffee, those are GOOD. We don't get them here in MN.

My first choice is always flavored coffee with sugar and half and half. I am especially enjoying the "Holiday Mint" flavor this Christmas with the peppermint whipped cream. Yummy. Makes me want a cup just talking about it!

Mmmmmmm!
What wonderful replies, thank you! I love hearing about what other people like, and how they prepare the foods, beverages etc. that they enjoy. A dear friend of mine owns a small coffeeshop and it is very interesting to watch how each person has their own way of prepping their cup of coffee, or settling themselves in with their coffee!I want to try every one of your "likes" listed here!
I always loved the smell of coffee, but never could drink it until way into my 30's, though coffee ice cream did go down very smoothly! LOL!

Mmm...a good strong cup of black coffee to go with my dark chocolate...yum. Straight up and dark, please! I'm drinking decaf these days due to the Babe still nursing. Tea too, though I have yet to find a good decaf Earl Grey. I think I'll just wait until I can sneak some caffeine back in to have that one again.

I LOVE CHAI!

My morning coffee -- my only cup of the day -- is a real pleasure for me and it has to be just so. I love Kona or Colombian coffee with hazlenut creamer and 1 tsp of sugar. Rally don't like to settle for anything less -- hubby says I'm a coffee snob. Yup, I am!

That's not being a snob at all Kay...that first cup of the day must be perfect, it starts your day! But I'm a disgrace to coffee connoisseurs. I like mine half and half with skim milk and can't drink strong coffee. I can't stand Starbucks, tastes like they burned the beans to me..lol.
My daughters all drink various kinds of organic teas and spicy chai's. They all smell so good, but don't agree with me. Most will give me terrific heartburn. Karlie had one the other day that was pomegranate green tea. That was really nice.

I'm a hot chocolate girl -- although I do enjoy white chocolate cappaccino. I prefer my coffee still in bean stage, in a bowl, with a candle sitting in the middle. I love the smell of coffee beans, especially the flavored ones, but have never developed a taste for the brewed stuff.

OH, isn't interesting to see what everyone else drinks..I like one cup of coffee a day in the afternoon. any earlier bothers my stomach.. I start the day with 3 cups of green tea.. and that is how I end it too. I like Republic of Tea the best or Traditional Medicinals, also I vary the nighttime tea with the traditional medicinal's Echinacea Plus this time of year.. being around a lot of little kids..you need all the immune help you can get!
;-)happy sipping!LauraH

Up until about a month ago I was a 2 pot a day girl...my kids knew not to ask for anything in the morning until the coffee was boiling. Then it got to the point that I couldn't ignore the health implications, so I started cutting back. When I got down to a pot a day I stopped cold turkey and went to herbal teas. Now I drink tea in the morning, durring the day mostly water or lacto-fermented beverages, and coffee as an occasional treat. I feel better overall and now I do take in caffene it really has a kick to it.

Two pots a day is a LOT! Wow. But coffee isn't all bad. I read not long ago that coffee has five times the antioxidants of green tea. I just do two cups a day, and often the second cup is part decaf. Two pots would have me climbing the ceiling!

OOOOHhhh one of my favorite things in the world!! GOOD coffee. I grind my own Green Mountain Coffee. I mix a blend myself and it is the best I have ever drank...and I have drank enough to float a ship. I do not like most "cafe" coffees...starbucks, pjs etc. They all taste burned to me.

I grew up thinking I didnt like coffee...being from Louisiana, my grannies and parents drank theirs STRONG...it stained glass cups! But then I drank it elsewhere and for years loved Maxwell House Masterblend. Eventually was introduced to GMC by a friend...and fell in love with it. I drink one pot on a slow day!

Love my coffee black. We grind our own Lowry's Elliot Bay Fogcutter. Nice and strong. Sometimes - though I'll get a starbucks lowfat mocha (yum) as a special treat. See I like their coffee, but I guess it's cuz I like it strong. I only usually have two cups in the morning. Then I try to drink green tea the rest of the day.

I don't drink a lot of coffee, but when I do as a treat will get a peppermint mocha at Starbucks. Sometimes that is too bitter, so I have started getting peppermint hot chocolate. YUM! Your mint chocolate coffee sounds yummy too Bonnie.

Now that there is peppermint whipped cream in the store, I make my own! Much better & the price is too! I also on occasion will stop at a gas station & get cappucino, but I mix 1/2 of it with black coffee or else it is too sweet for me. We don't make a lot of coffee at home, but I would drink more if we did.

How about hot apple cider? I miss getting that like we did when I lived back home in NY. Fresh from the orchard was great!
