Yes, Connie, chicken boots do make gardening fun.
Went to Kelly's fruit & veg stand today and bought one six-pack yellow marigold and four six-pack yellow portulaca which is one of my all time favorites.
Nine portulac plants are for the strawberry pot. The others in pots along the sidewalk to house. If I have any plants leftover they will go in a wall planter at back door which opens onto the deck.

Today.... we transplanted 2 fig trees, 2 Hibicus and 1 Hydrenga... We had to dig them up last Fall. The gophers were trying their best to get to the roots.... A good watering and a dose of vita-B and hopefully they will survive being transplanted...

I have not planted yet however, I am working on prepping my vegetable beds with screened compost. Black gold for the plants! |

We've planted carrots, green beans, tomatoes, okra, parsley, onion tops, and cucumbers. Can't wait to harvest! Marly

I've never seen a five leaf clover! Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Marly

My chickpeas germinated beautifully and are just about ready to transplant, tomatoes, beans, broccoli and lettuce are also all doing well. I finally made my garden plan for the year, so I know where everything should be going, BUT I don't have enough bed space for everything I want to plant. Might just have to make more beds.
