                      | Missy had her surgery today and everything went well. We will know the results of the biopsy next week. She is in quite a bit of pain tonight but has medication to take so that is helping. I'll keep you posted as we find out information. Thanks so much for all your prayers.

                      | I have been thinking about Missy...and about you too..I am glad to hear that the surgery went well. We will be waiting for news of the tests and biopsy. Tell Missy, not to let her pain get out of control...(speaking from recent experience!) I was so worried about taking strong pain killers that I would wait until I was hurting *so* bad! It is really true, if you keep your pain under control by taking meds every 4 hours, you will rest, and your body will heal..you will be able to use your body's energy for healing, not fighting pain.

Missy, I am thinking of you!!
 Take care
 Kate

                      | Kay and Missy - I'm sending best wishes for comfort, a speedy recovery and good test results. What good fortune it is that both of you are there to help each other out. Missy is so lucky to have a mom right now with her when she needs it - and you, Kay, are one heckuva farmgirl mama! It's so hard to see our children, no matter how old they are, going through struggles - Hugs to BOTH of you!
 XOXO, Libbie

                      | Hi Girls-Sorry for not keeping you posted sooner. I've been up and around more the last couple of days, but my husband was here for a short visit. He's going to heavy equipment school in Montana all this school year. He left early this morning and thought I would finally sit down and catch up on some e-mail.
The surgery went just fine. I was in a brand new hospital and it felt more like a hotel. Valet parking, they walked my mom to my room. The nurses treated me like a queen. They were all extemely attentive to my emotional needs as well as the physical. I stayed very postive through the whole process, but they were still very comforting. The nurse kept wrapping me in warm blankets all day(I LOVE those things-wish I had a blanket warmer at home!) The anesthesiologist came and talked to me and gave me a choice of what type of anesthesia I wanted. Went with the Versaid over the general anesthesia. Other than a little nausea and lightheadedness it went great. The doctor had told me they would have me in a breast binder after surgery. I had pictured some big bulky gauze like thing. Instead, I woke up wearing a cute little purple tube top with ruffles on the edges and little purple orange slices all over it. For a second I thought I was having a flashback to the 70's when I was a little girl! haha I'm still pretty sore and hate taking narcotics, but I did take them the first few days and have tried to keep myself at a comfortable level of pain. It's hard for me to even lift dishes out of the dishwasher and put them away and to reach for things. I'm not supposed to be lifting for a little while. You don't realize how much you use your chest muscles for even for the tiniest little thing.

I'm calling to make an appointment next week for a follow up and will hopefully have the result by Thursday. They put the biopsy through a gel process and then look at thin slices. This way they see every little cell that came from that area. More than likely it's nothing, but the nurse said it's better they do this now so that a year later they aren't finding out that it was something more serious.

Thanks so much for all of your warm thoughts and prayers. It brought tears to my eyes reading all your posts today. I feel very at peace about this and even felt peaceful the day of the surgery. I know it's because of all the prayers being sent my way. (((((hugs)))))))

 Blessings,

 Missy

                      | I will be soooo glad to be able to move past all this!!! I have my follow-up appointment on Thurs. at 11:00, so I'll update you on that. Initially it was very upsetting to me, but I'm really not feeling anxious about it anymore. It's just the feeling of being in limbo that I'm ready to be done with. Thanks again for all your prayers!!
 Love and Blessings,

                      | Just thought I would let you know I had my follow up with the surgeon and the biopsy came bace normal. He said it wasn't even a cellular change that would mean precancerous. I guess it was from some sort of trauma to the area. Thank the Lord!! It feels really good to be able to move past this now. It's unfortunated that I had to go through the surgery to find this out, but better safe than sorry!!
Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers!! It means a lot to me.
