Anyone else use turmeric on a daily basis? I was mixing it in a "shake" but now I am also trying it in a tea. Made hot tea with a regular black bag, used 1/2 tsp on turmeric (organic) and a dash of pepper. Also mixed in 1/2 TBSP of coconut oil. It wasn't bad - like a spicy tea. The health benefits of turmeric are amazing. I get some joint pain in my legs and hands, and muscle pain in my back. I really see a difference!

Anyone else use turmeric? I also like to cook with it. I make homemade chicken soup with it and several curry dishes.

What do you do with it? Recipes?

Nicole,

I drink a tea that is numeric with citrus and ginger - a blend from maybe Teavana or a local tea shop. it is very spicy and kind of "wakes up" my mouth, for lack of a better way to put it.

Like you, I add it mostly to homemade chicken soup. It turns it a beautiful color as well as tastes great.

I have yet to venture out with anything else, but have been reading up on the health benefits of it so I need to add it to more things.

Nicole as I talked about before I use turmeric in potatoes, yellow rice, dried beans, soup, but have not heard about using in tea until reading your post. I will give it a try ~ maybe not for my morning tea ~ think I would like it better in the afternoon.

One of my favorite pairings with turmeric is ground cumin which helps with digestion.

I bought some really high-quality tumeric to help with my psoriatic arthritis, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm going to try your tea recipe in the morning!

Golden Milk is a paste made from turmeric and then mixed with a milk (coconut milk, almond milk, etc) to drink daily. It tastes really good and makes the curcumin in turmeric more readily available for the body to use. Here is a link to Dr. Arjan Khalsa's website where I got my recipe. http://drarjan.com/turmeric-paste-golden-milk/
Turmeric has increased bioavailability when a little pepper is added to it and it is slightly heated, so I have read.
