Marilyn, that is so cute. Embroider it on an apron.

All of these suggestions for the word Apron for this year's Jubilee are inspiring! What the cool part is that we are all these attributes. It is just another testimony to the diversity, passion, creativity, friendliness, and love that brings us all together here at MJF!

Here's one of our ideas for an egg gathering apron. We're still in an apron gathering idea mode but having fun. The other apron idea we're working on is a series of little compartments across the front that hold individual eggs.

Cute apron. The apron with little pockets sounds very interesting. It'll me nice for us to have a couple to choose from or vote on.

I like this first "draft" for our egg holding apron. Even though I don't have chickens, I think the big pouch up front would be useful for many tasks. Looking forward to seeing what other ideas come forth!

I do think this is cute but since I would be using it for eggs I am looking forward to seeing the individual compartment one. Actually, I think I have seen one done that way somewhere already. Don't remember where though.

I love it!! So cute! It looks like it has three pockets...one in front and one on each side??
I no longer have hens but I do bring in a plethora of small tomatoes and green beans in the summer :-) this would be perfect <3

Maybe we need an apron with multi-pockets in several sizes. I could go for that. Little pockets for my 3 eggs, medium size for gloves, and a larger one for garden items. Kinda like Goldie-Locks & the 3 bears which in our case would be FarmGirls and the 3 Chicks.

MaryJane -
I love the look of that apron and notice that there are openings on the sides for pockets, too. It looks like they are stitched down so that would mean there ARE three pockets. Is that correct? I love pockets on aprons. I have no chickens, so no eggs to bring in, but there are lots of things to put into pockets. And the larger center pocket works well for me! I love aprons, and have loads of patterns, but if this isn't the final design, I'd love to have this pattern, too.

Yes, three roomy pockets. Not our final design yet, just a quick mock-up. Stay tuned!

What about putting a row of little egg pockets on top of or below the bigger pockets? That way when I go take care of the chickens and get side tracked by the garden I could fit it all in one apron!

I love this sweet apron! I've been wondering about lining that pretty large pocket with some kind of light weight waterproof fabric. I could wipe it out after bringing in something damp or a little soiled. It might make fewer stains for the apron. hmmm?

I love the idea Heather put out there. With chickens and other things to tend to, I forget that I'm carrying eggs and a pocket higher up might increase my yield.

Just now seeing the talk of this year's Jubilee...I love the apron idea. I will be getting some chickens so an apron for egg gathering and such would be awesome! Excited for this year's Jubilee.

Carrie has been working on two patterns for an egg gathering apron and I've been working on text, all of it to show up in the June/July issue of MaryJanesFarm that has the theme, Fresh Egg Overture due out the first part of May. But since Jubilee is May 7 and 8 this year, we'll post info here within the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned!
