I love that idea, too! I always wear aprons when working in the garden... I may not be gathering eggs, but I sure do gather up the good bounty! :)

When MJF ran a sale on her Once Upon a Chicken fabric I bought several pieces. Got them out today and think they will be perfect for egg gathering apron. Patiently waiting on the pattern. Hope it is as easy to make as the clothes pin apron was last Jubilee.

I'd be willing to proof the pattern, if needed. I am a technical editor and have found errors in quilt magazine patterns and novels.

I love trying out new patterns, and sometimes the designer knows what and how they are making the item, and write it down as they are doing it, but the directions are not as clear for the novice who is using the pattern. I can help remedy that sometimes and clarify. LOL!

Carrie built a couple of egg gathering aprons. We could see a few changes that needed to be made but for the next two weeks we're consumed with mag and Sister Issue deadlines. Can't wait to get back to it. Awesome offer, Quiltee!!!

Give me an A. Give me a P. Give me a R. Give me an O. Give me a N. What do you got?

How funny, I just posted on the Jubilee thread from last year and then I found this thread. Guess I'm still a little lost when it comes to knowing where to look for answers.

I LOVE the egg gathering apron idea! Judging from the posts, I guess I might not be the only one who finds herself without a basket or other handy egg-holder when I find those little gems! I cannot tell you how many times I have stuffed them into my bra so that I have hands free to go about routine matters in the coop. The worst thing is forgetting about them and reaching too far or leaning in too far and you hear that all too familiar "pop" !! My DH just doesn't understand how these things happen. But then again he isn't a "girl" at all. <snicker>

You can put your boots in the oven but that don't make 'em biscuits!

Me too CJ! Maybe I'll come visit you sometime in the future. It's only a 12 hour drive to Denver... How much further to you?

Well, April, I live 400 miles from Denver, clear down in the southwest corner, with LOTS of really tall Rocky Mountains in between. It's another 8 hrs. or so . . . but it is BEAUTIFUL! And, you'd be WELCOME LIKE CRAZY here!

I've got Jubilee on my mind tonight and have been playing around with a little apron ditty. Can you think of descriptive farmgirl words that start with each letter of the word APRON? For example, P might be purpose, petticoat, passion, etc. O could be outreach. R could be respect. I need as many as you can think of!!!!

I like that people are sticking to versions of "neighbors", because we definitely are, through MJF.

Aprons
protect
resourceful, respected
organized, outgoing
neighbors
