Any of you mommies have any tips on helping your little ones sleep better at night? Tilton has always been an awesome sleeper. He was sleeping most of the night by 6 weeks but my new little guy struggles sleeping and even while he sleeps he fidgets and grunts making it impossible for me to sleep. I am incapable of tuning him out. Between night feedings, hearing him fidget, and him not sleeping I only get 5 ish hours of sleep at night (bedtime starts at 10). And trust me it's not enough for me especially since I'm chancing my one year old all day!! Any tips to help him sleep more soundly and allow him more sleep as well?

I don't know, since I don't have a monitor and I didn't go anywhere today. I plan to exercise more. Hoping I can get it under control without meds.
I am so sorry you aren't sleeping enough. I understand, though. Mine were all like that. Non slept through the night until at LEAST2. Sawyer just started regularly sleeping through the night in the last 6 months. Could you diffuse some oils, maybe?

Hello Ladies!
Wow, January is a ROUGH time of year for me at work and I've been MIA for a while. I had a horrible day yesterday where a mistake I made was caught and it escalated to a complaint and the management team had to fix everything. We've been so busy and I ended up breaking down in tears at my desk (fortunately I work from home). Lily gave me tickets to the ballet to see Giselle for Christmas, of course the show was last night. It was so wonderful to watch the dancers (I started taking ballet lessons when I was 6 and continued into adulthood), but I couldn't get the bad work day off my mind. Hopefully things will start to calm down soon and I won't be quite so busy. I quickly read through all the comments on here that I've missed in the past few weeks, so I apologize if I missed someone. I really do need to make time to be in the forums and work on my badges again!
Krista - Oh my, how adorable is he! Your boys are too cute, thank you for sharing these photos! No real resolutions yet, but I am getting more serious in pole fitness classes I started taking. It's like a combination of gymnastics and dance and there are so many different styles!
Joyce - I love the sign your husband made, what a wonderful idea for exchanging gifts with a spouse!
Kiersten - I'm with ya on getting started on those merit badges. It's so easy to get distracted from them around the holidays and when life gets busy.
Ally - Welcome! Your homestead sounds like a dream. I can't wait to hear more about your adventures with those boys.
Alicia - I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling great. I was diagnosed with endo in 2010, I'm here if you need anything or have questions. I've tried so many different treatments, been part of some studies with my pelvic pain specialist, and spent countless hours researching and learning more about this disease than anyone ever should, lol
I hope you all are enjoying 2017 so far and I can't wait to hear more about everyone's plans for the year.

Alicia- Hopefully you can get it under control soon. I don't know much about it. My only experience with high BP was in the last month of my first pregnancy and the only way to fix it was delivery. And I agree about not being on meds. Good luck.
Oh wow! 2?! I have really been blessed with Tilton. He is such a good sleeper and even sleeps through his brother crying. It's amazing how we still manage to function with no sleep. Even though I feel like the walking dead! Ha ha! That's a good idea. What kind of oils do you suggest?
Nicole- Glad you stopped by! Don't stress about your mistake. Your HUMAN! Your supposed to make mistakes. Otherwise how would we learn? I'm sorry to hear that it escalated though. Take some deep breaths and know that we are all hear for you! I'm sorry the ballet happened to be the same day and you were unable to enjoy it like you wanted. Maybe working on some badges will clear your mind. Stop by again soon!

Hello Everyone! I'm stopping by today looking for advice or recommendations. I was given a new dress for Christmas and it's perfect. It was quickly becoming a favorite. I wore it out last night and and ember from the fire we had going got caught in the skirt and burned a hole. It's about the size of a quarter near the bottom. I'd love to find a creative way to mend it so I can keep wearing the dress out. Any ideas? I'm clueless when it comes to mending clothes, but I love this dress so much I want to save it. The fabric is 97% polyester 3% spandex and machine washable.

Nicole, if it was my dress, I'd try to find a print with the same colors and then patch behind it. As long as you don't have loose threads fraying at the edges it might be a neat way to fix the hole with some personality, and if you can find a black/blue/red/cream print it probably wouldn't be very noticeable.

Nicole- I don't know much about mending but my first thought was a patch. Since I'm not sure where at the bottom I don't know if these other ideas will help but you could sew on a flower or a bow or maybe even wrap lace all around. I hope you are able to fix it!
Rachel- How have you been? Nice to see you stop by!
Alicia- I will go check out your video! I tried lavender last night and Saturday night and it seems to be working! We are now only up for feedings which is so much better! I'm one happy mama! Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback ladies! I actually might be able to patch it easily. Because it's mostly polyester the edges are hardened and frayed up, which makes the hole look bigger. I was following the pattern and I don't think the hole is nearly as big as it actually looks, just a small slit might be all once I line everything up, so I might even try adding some embroidery to make it blend in even more. I'll keep you posted!
Alicia - I love seeing your homestead!

I have been thinking this week of what I would like to plant in my garden this year. Have any of you made plans yet? What are you hoping to plant?

Hi ladies! Sorry I have been MIA... Between Blake going in the hospital and then passing, and then my dad having the heart attack, my introverted self started to isolate! I'm trying really hard not to do that, so I thought I should probably post on here.
Nicole - what did you end up doing? A can certainly see where a patch would work... or depending on the rest of the dress, you could add a yo yo over it or something else to give it some extra personality that fits with your style.
Alicia - miss you my friend! We need to chat!
Krista - I've started trying to plan my garden. With it being a totally new zone for us, I must admit I am struggling!!!

I haven't made any garden plans yet - only mental ones :) Making a mental note of what we need more of for canning/fermenting purposes. We can't plant until the first full moon in June here, so I haven't ordered or planned anything on paper yet.

Shannon, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Is he okay? I really struggled when I read your update on Blake. In all honesty I actually cried. I really struggle hearing those sorts of things especially since Tilton is so close in age to him. I am so so sorry for your family. I bet there is a big change in gardening! It's still fairly new to me.
Alicia, WOW! You go girl!! I wish I could plant that much. My garden space is small and I'm limited on what I can grow. I am very jealous right now! One day when we build our home I will make sure to have land for a large garden. Keep us posted on how your garden does.
Joyce, I am the same way. I haven't written any official plans down. It's all in my brain for now. I'm hoping to have a more successful year this year.

Thank you for letting us know, Alicia. Have you heard any new updates on anyone? What happened with Shannon's family? Where they home when it happened? So scary.
