Hello Ladies! I hope everyone has been enjoying their holiday season. It's been very quiet on here, which I hope means we've all been busy spending time with family and friends.
We're still getting settled into our new house, everything is moved in (still working on unpacking) and I'm getting used to the neighbor's hens hopping the fence into our back yard every day, lol. An unexpected home improvement project has been keeping us very busy. We learned that the bathtub wasn't sealed properly and water had been leaking down the walls and straight into our basement! I decided I wanted to do subway tile on the walls, so I'll have to keep you all posted on that project as I've never tiled anything before. We had a nice Christmas with my in laws - opening presents at their house and then having dinner and playing games at our house. We visit my family next weekend and then the busy time at my job begins. How is everyone else doing?

Hi Nicole! Great to hear from you :) We had a wonderful Christmas as well...now taking time to relax this week before back to the regular routine next week. Christmas Eve we had a big dinner with some friends over (we don't have family where we live) and then Christmas Day we went over to a friends house for another dinner. We had a Christmas Eve service at our church, which my 10 year old daughter I played a violin duet at - and then Christmas Day we had another service where I sang with a cold :) We decided to have a homemade Christmas. I made my husband a shirt, and he made me a wonderful sign that says Live Simply and Be Grateful.
How is everyone else doing?

Hello ladies! Its been way to long! It looks like its been pretty quite since I have been gone! Joyce, I love your sign! I am cross posting my update.
I am so happy to be back after a month and a half and have so much to share! It’s been quite an adventure at my house! Only 4 days after Stryder Quinn was born we celebrated Thanksgiving.
This year’s Thanksgiving was a first for both of my boys. To clarify, they are only 11 months apart and that makes them my handsome little Irish twins! A week and a half later we celebrated Tilton’s first birthday.
I never thought I could be so happy and so sad at the same time. He melts my heart with his spunky personality and crazy smarts. How did a year go by so quickly? A week later we celebrated my birthday (we have 4 birthdays in our family within 4 weeks!) and went to see some Christmas lights and visit Santa. Let’s just say that Tilton did NOT like Santa!! I hope that will change by next year! We also decided to do a fun family photo shoot for Christmas cards.
We never got around to printing them but did send them electronically. A week later was Christmas. Tilton and I woke up sick. This was his first sickness ever. It was a terrible way to spend Christmas, but he was a trooper and still opened all his presents and kept a smile on his face. We then spent all of last week recovering from this terrible bug which soon spread to my little Stryder. During this time we also had many appointments, photo sessions, family dinners, Tilton’s first dentist appointment, holiday parties, etc. Needless to say I have been so crazy busy that I can’t believe it’s already January. Many days were just a blur. I underestimated how crazy and challenging it would be, but I wouldn’t trade my boys for the world!
Thank goodness for family and schedules! Anyway, I am so happy to be back and to catch up with everyone! I hope you all had some wonderful holidays and are ready for the new year!
P.S. This last picture is a picture of each of the boys at the same age and in the same outfit. We posed them similar and sent the pictures to many friends and family. Very few could tell who was who!! This takes Irish twins to a whole new level!!

Alicia - your nuts! You have met me in person... superwoman I am not! So far, though, I am keeping up with my goals :) Woohooo. The big test will be the homesteading portion! The plans for the chicken coop are drawn out... we know where the garden is going and in the future the orchard and bees. Still figuring out where we want the sheds for the goats and how we are going to build them. We have prospects for getting some, including a momma and her kid after she births! That would give us milk from the get go which we obviously want! Might start meat rabbits this year as well...

Hello! It's been awhile but since the Christmas season is over and I'm back from vacation, I'm finally ready to buckle down and work on some merit badges. How is everyone doing?

Thank you Shannon. You have some wonderful goals set up. I bet you will be able to stick with them. You can do it.
Kiersten, welcome back from your vacation. Good luck with your merit badges.
Things have been good here. We have been dealing with negative degree weather and tons of snow. Now we are having avalanches and road closures. I have been making lists for myself for my 2017 year. I made a list of things I need to crochet and the order they need to be done and put that in my crochet box, I made my UFO list for the UFO group, and a list of books I would like to read. I even enlisted a friend to read those books with me and keep me on track. It will be our own mini book club. I also found a list of fun holidays (Shannon you may interested) to do with my boys. Sunday was national bubble bath day so we took bubble baths!

Shannon, did you get my email?
Tomorrow is Kid Inventors Day! That could be really fun! Maybe I will give my son some craft supplies to make his own invention!

Krista - I did. Sorry I haven't responded. I've been pretty emotionally drained as of late and started to isolate myself... working on that :) My hubby says it is a "self-preserving coping skill" (his counseling definition of it, lol), but in any case, I need to reply and will do so hopefully today :)

Hello everyone! Just thought I'd say "Hi!" and introduce myself again! My 33 year old self is a Momma to three boys, Gabe - 13yrs, Alystaire - 5yrs, and Donovan 11 mo. Married (officially) 2 years but together for 14! We rent a five acre "homestead" complete with chickens, pigs, turkeys and ducks! I work part time at a coffee shop bakery! And life is a whirlwind of craziness, but I wouldn't trade it for a google-zillion dollars! Hello everyone!

Hi Ally! Welcome!!!!
We have had a few rather warm for January day. Went to the farm to meet with Soil and Water conservation lady to see if they can help us with any programs. What a day. Started out beautiful and perfect at the farm. As the day got cloudier and colder I developed one issue after another. First severe uterine pain (pretty sure I have endo), followed by a hypertension headache. Of course once I realized what it was an hour had passed, maybe more, so I don't know what it was when it started, but it was 165/97 on the way home from the farm. Then, I am eating a wheat thin and one of my molars chipped. I now have a big hole.... GRRRR!!!!! I have an appointment to have it patched at noon. I loathe the dentist...
