Help! My daughter wants a embroidery machine found a brother machine that will do 4 by 4 projects. But has Disney downloads. Do u think this a good starter machine ? And do u think we can sell anything with Disney ?

Yesterday, I put a button on a shirt that has been sitting around waiting to be done for a couple years. The fabric where the button needed to go had a hole in it so I put in some fusible interfacing to shore it up. Now I have another sleeveless shirt to wear.

Good for you, Marie! I've used fusible webbing for repairs like that and it works really well

Yep... I remember using it back in High School to repair the hems on my dresses.. back then we called it "Stitchwichery" or something like that. AndI still keep fusible webbing around.. you never know when you will need it! Lol!

I finished the 2 Minion quilt tops and the Star Wars quilt top for my grandsons, which was my UFO goal. They are at the long-arm quilters now. Then I will add the binding. Here are pictures of the Minion quilts. I forgot to take a picture of the Star Wars - I will post it later.

I altered the second kit since these were for twins - I switched the orange and blue binding and border fabrics on the second one.

Thank you, girls! They should receive them today.

Today, I hope to pull out the "heart" themed quilt to work on.

I love looking at all the wonderful projects being completed. I have finally finished another one of mine as well.

Paper towel alternatives. This project came out of the online magazine some time ago. As soon as I finish my current roll. I am going to slide a roll of these pretties onto my dispenser and give them a whirl. That will make one less thing to use and throw away.

Have a happy crafty day!

Sherrilyn, sure wish I had the energy to make those cloth roller towels! What a great boon to a clean environment!

Well, Farmgirls, I need lots of hankies here to dry my tears. I was so proud of how far I had come on the "heart, signature quilt". I managed to sew 40 triangles onto 20 blocks in two days. Yay! That's along with hosting a bridal shower with 28 guests on one of those days...pride really does go before the fall. Last night as I began to pin the next 40 triangles I realized I had sewn the first 40 to the wrong sides of the pattern. Can we say grrrrrrrrrrrrr? So, today, I am frogging away...rippit, rippit. This quilt will have so much love sewn into it just may turn to syrup.

Every one of the towels used on the backside is recycled from a badly worn bath towel. I cut 12" squares from the good parts and had a grand time. The rest of the towel scrap has gone into the oil rag bin in the garage. I also used snaps instead of buttons. Buttons are cute, but what I need a towel it's usually becoming a crises and I don't have time to wrestle it. I made enough to make 2 eight towel rolls. Scratch another project off the list, start another 2 projects...lol

Judith, I know your pain. I go through seam rippers nearly as fast as needles. It will be beautiful when it's done, and you will smile too.

Judith, been there done that to many times. In the end it will be beautiful and worth it, tears on it and all!

For years I have used washcloths as napkins, dusters, in place of paper towels and all cleaning. Cheap and easy. Wash separately and they last for years.
They are placed in my kitchen and easy to use.
