Last year, I guess I won for the most UFOs finished. Grace and I discussed what an appropriate prize would be. I suggested that she could send me one of her UFOs and I could finish it and send it back. She did better than that.
The UFO she sent is a little girl's dress which she had started to cut out complete with pattern, fabric and tools. She said I could keep the project and send the pattern back. This is perfect because I know of a baby girl and boy being born to different mother's this spring. I also received one of her magnetic photo frames (accidentally not pictured) and the pattern to make more. I also received four pieces of fabric which would make lovely magnetic photo frames themselves. Hmmm . . . She also sent me a mug (I just broke my favorite one.), a packet of hot chocolate mix and a small one serving box of tea plus a lavender sachet filled with lavender from her own garden. I am very happy to have won the contest and been given such lovely gifts. Oh, and another UFO. <snicker> Thank you (?) Grace. tee hee

Marie -
OMG! Grace asked for my address on Monday, and said she was sending me something special - another UFO. IF I am receiving a wonderful gift like yours, too, do you think it would be appropriate if I reciprocate and send her something in return? Tee hee! I have LOTS of UFOs.
By the way, I love those fabrics. Very warm colors.

A reciprocation might be nice but not in the form of a UFO.

Kat -
Same here on the "better get something done" thing. Believe it or not, I plan to finish 3 Star Wars pillow cases for the grandsons, and put binding on at least 1 (maybe 2-3) quilts, and find fabrics for some scrappy swap blocks for my quilt guild meeting next week. So 4 of those are UFOs. Wheeeeeeee! Am I crazy? Cackling here. LOL! Kat, you are rubbing off on me.
I have to sew tomorrow, because Friday is my Bunco day. Gotta go play! And Friday night we are going to an Elvis concert.

Oooh! This is exactly what I need! Would you please add me to the list too? I have so many UFO's piling up!
- knitted baby afghan for my baby granddaughter. - mittens that I promised my youngest son - a cross-stitch project that I started too long ago to mention for my mother-in-law. - Finish knitting the intarsia pillow. - pajamas for my youngest son, before he hits another growth spurt and I have to buy more fabric. - Finish embroidering some days of the week towels. I got two finished and then got distracted. - Finish embroidering vintage car quilt blocks. - Finish sewing my nightgown.
I know my list is probably longer, but this is what I can think of off the top of my head.

Thank you so much, Grace, for sharing your fabri-aholic addiction with me. I love the patriotic fabrics you sent. I will find the perfect project for it. And I LOVE the sachet you added. Great aroma.
I would like to clear up something, though. I don't have an "addiction", my fabrics are not stash, I "collect" fabric, and sometimes just purchase it because I like it. I love to touch and look at my fabrics. I have had some pieces for years, because I cannot cut it until I find the perfect project for it - the project that tells me that it needs that special fabric I've been holding on to.
So far today I have ironed, cut, pressed, made envelopes, labeled, and mailed (at the USPO) my fabric squares for the Valentines Fabric Swap. UFO Item #16 in my list. LOL!
I also ironed the binding for one quilt, pulled the pattern for the French Seam pillowcases, and have the quilt off the bed to put the binding on, too. Now to get some sewing done.

WOO HOO! I finished projects 17, 18, 19 today. Still hope to put on a binding or two. Here's pictures.
Two are alike, for the twins, Richard and Phillip; the other is for Greg, my oldest grandson.
That's 4 UFOs/projects done today so far.

Thank you Sara - and they are Flannel. I used the French (Flat Felled??) seams so there are no raw edges inside and they go together quickly.

I finished another UFO! Number 4 on my list. This is the 5th UFO I finished today. Amazing what you can accomplish when you can sit down and sew - uninterrupted.
My mother made the top of this quilt in 2003 or 2004 (she passed away in 2005). She used the blanket stitch by hand to applique a heart of musical fabric in the center of each plaid square. She set the plaid fabrics in diagonal rows and alternated the 2 musical fabrics in the squares. I had this longarm quilted last year, and today finished it by putting on the binding. Have 2 more of my mother's to put binding on. Maybe next week. Here's a picture (colors are off - first picture looks pink, but it is red - my mother hated pink. LOL!).
