Oh how I miss my garden! Even though it was smaller this past season, I miss it. I love snow & hope we get some but when it clears for the last time this season, my seeds will be ready.![](icons/icon_smile.gif)

I was just planning in my head last night.....how funny! I was thinking I should get out my notebook, find out what did best, what I don't want to do again, what I'd like to try etc......LOL! It never ends does it? At least we know we enjoy it right?!

I just love garden planning season, too! This year I'm going to plan for a bigger garden with the farmers' market in mind. Our farmers market in the nearest town is SMALL, to say the least - the past couple of years they've had two, yes, TWO, vendors, so, maybe my Farmgirl Chapter gals and I can make a positive difference there. Hopefully!
XOXO, Libbie

I just love curling up with my seed catalogues and pen and paper and planning my garden. It keeps the light at the end of the tunnel during January's dreary days! My garden on paper always looks so nice...no weeds, nice and tidy rows! ![](icons/icon_smile_big.gif)
What I will definitely plant again this year are: "Cheddar" cauliflower - excellent mild flavor and the orange color looks nice when steamed. It sold out as fast as it could ripen. "Purple Haze" carrots - look fabulous sliced in salads or grated. They are bright purple on the outside and bright orange on the inside. Customers went crazy over them. "Big Beef" tomato - a beefsteak, but is round without the lumpy shoulders, so less waste. It held up nicely, didn't crack and seems resistant to the blight we can get here on hot, humid days. "De Cicco" broccoli - the best in all of my trials for flavor and large side shoots. We were still picking spring broccoli in September!
What type of green bean do you all prefer? I planted one called "Venture" last year and it was yicky...bland flavor and had no holding capacity at all...ripe one day, overripe the next!
I sooo miss my garden. Going down to the garden and getting a handful of this and that and making a meal around it is so satisfying and tasty! Di

I was just thinking on my drive to work this morning that I need to start on this. It is supposed to be quite warm this weekend, and I was thinking that I might go out and make some layers for some new beds.
With all the problems with produce & ecoli this year, I want to do even more of my own this year!!
