Sara, how is your story coming along?
My friend helped me download the Amazon kindle app and get started on reading. It has actually been easier for me to read. Plus I can read anywhere. So now I’m thinking about starting some new badges that require reading since it will be easier for me. I’m thinking the Bibliophile Badge.

Krista, thanks for asking about my story. Here's my sad tale of woe. I was typing on page 23 when it was just gone and all was left was a white screen. Even though I had saved it my story was gone. Still don't have an idea what happened because my laptop was okay. I had printed out the first 20 pages for editing so I have been re-entering my story and improving it as I go along. I'm now on page 13. I don't work on it everyday but I do try to get to it most days.

Geez, bad news. Make sure to save it on a thumb drive or in a cloud. One can't be too careful.

Oh no Sara, I am so sorry. That is so frustrating. Hopefully it won’t happen again. Sometimes computers have a mind of there own.

What bad luck Sara! Thank goodness you had a hard copy. I'm sure you are improving it as you go. Good for you for sticking with it.
I've been working on the reading, 'riting and 'rythmatic, Krista. I got a couple of poetry books from the library. I have yet to read them, but I'm working on reading the non-fiction. I could do the bibliophile one at the same time, I suppose.
Ashley gave me the Intermediate spinning badge as well as the Beginner as I had done so much already. Now I need to work on the Expert.
I won't ever be bored!!!

Sara -- the second edition will be even better than the first one was. Look upon that first one as the rough draft.

Jill, that sounds like a good one too. I haven’t been much of a reader since I had my kids. They take up a lot of my time, so finding an easier way to read has been wonderful. I’m hoping to keep going and get more badges done. Good luck with your expert level badge.
Haven’t worked on my cross stitch in awhile. Had some other projects needing to come first. I’m hoping to get back at it by this weekend.

I applied for Beginner Level of the Speak for the Trees Badge. I'm now working on the next levels. I can't believe how many different trees I am noticing now. I like the National Audubon Society books and have the Field Guide to Trees Eastern Region. I like how the book is laid out. Some trees were harder to figure out than others. Attaching a picture of a pin cherry tree that the birds are enjoying.

Great job, Andrea. Is that cherry tree in your yard? We have a crab apple tree that has little red berries like that. The birds love it too. It’s wonderful seeing all the birds flying around. Trees are such an amazing part of nature.

Hi Krista. Thank you! It is on the edge of the road. I have to watch it when backing out of my driveway so I don't hit it. It's on my property but on the other side of our one lane dirt road. Never paid much attention to what kind of tree it was until working on this merit badge. It has really taken off since we had to cut down two elm trees that were growing near it.

To be honest I haven’t paid close attention to what type of trees are around me. I only know the crab tree because we purchased it. We have 2 in the backyard that I’m not sure what they are. It would be good for me to do the badge so I can learn more about them. Especially since we would like to purchase some more for our yard in the future.

Applying for my Apron beginner merit badge today. I just love the fabrics I found at hobby lobby. Picture of fabric cut and ready for stitching.

Does the apron have to be a particular pattern?

Thanks Sara. It took me awhile to get the badge submitted and then once I was ready I lost my Sisterhood number lol. Now I have it written down in my Merit Badge Binder so I won’t forget again. I’m still working on my intermediate cross stitch badge.

Kistra looking forward to seeing it.
Today I received the new canning badge page to put in Badge Planner. This badge is definitely on my list of badges to do.
I now have copied all the pages of my story onto my laptop. Now to continue the story.
