I found an easier pattern and used a brown yarn this time. I also focused hard on my gauge and counted my stitches. I am pleased with the end results!

Krista - Well done! Those are adorable little booties. You've motivated me to pick up my SIL's socks and keep knitting them.

Thank you CJ, Shannon, and Nicole! You guys are so sweet! It makes me feel so good knowing that I am an inspiration! How is everyone else doing on merit badges?

I did end up picking up my SIL's socks, but those aren't for a merit badge. I've finished the heel flap and I'm about to start on the heel turn. I'll have to get pictures when I get home from work. I'm making good progress on lets get physical, doing yoga every day for 6 days in a row now!

Krista - thank you for the reminder. I posted the photo in a different forum this morning, but I made it through the heel turn and have one row left on the gusset now. I think this photo is brighter than the one in the under 35 thread. We got news that the cancer is in Jennie's lymph nodes so once she's healed from the surgery she'll do six months of chemotherapy. I hope these cheer her up a little.

Your sock looks fantastic! I love the color choice! You'll have them done in no time. Sorry to hear about her cancer spreading. I hope the chemo can fix it and she will be cancer free.

I may have gotten carried away this weekend! I made 3 sets of baby booties. A new pair for my baby and 2 differnt size pairs for a baby shower I went to! Don't laugh but I just had to try the girl booties on my son to see how they looked!!

The advantage of working on baby projects is they finish very quickly.

Nicole, the sock pattern and choice of yarn is beautiful! This is obviously not your first!

Judith - While I've been knitting for over a decade, this is only my second time working that pattern (or any sock really). I'm a perfectionist with my knitting and crocheting, so I rip out and rework until it's right - a blessing and a curse! I'm so glad everyone likes them, I really want them to make her smile since so little seems to these days.
Krista - I'm so glad you found a new pattern for the booties. These look great and are so adorable!
I've been steadily working on a few badges and planning other ones for the year. This is day 12 of practicing yoga every day for the Let's Get Physical badge and I'm on day 24 of only using reusable bags while shopping for the Shopping Green badge. I haven't brought one plastic bag home since I started the badge. It's definitely early, but I'm starting to think about gifts and decorations I want to make for Christmas this year. We're moving 90% of our things out of the apartment and putting it in storage in a month, so I have to plan to keep out all of my craft things. So may exciting changes are happening this year.

Thanks everyone! I have really been enjoying my crochet work and keep thinking of all the new things I want to make.
Nicole, that is awesome. Keep up your amazing work on your badges. It's never to early to start on Christmas gifts or decorations. Here shortly I plan on starting my sons Christmas stocking. I figure better to be done way early than late. Good luck with figuring out what you need.

Nicole I am impressed with your diligence! It's amazing how much we can accomplish when we put our minds to it. I hope these two wonderful practices will follow you after you've completed your badge

Woohoo! I just applied for my beginner Shopping Green badge. It's been 3 days of only using reusable shopping bags. I may have to purposefully get plastic one of these trips so I can keep cleaning out the litter boxes! It's felt really good to always have a fabric bag on me, ready to go. I'm also on day 18 of yoga and still going strong for the Let's Get Physical badge!
How are you getting along on our badges?

Congrats Nicole! That is so exciting! I have just a tiny bit more of work until I have completed my Intermediate Level Crochet Badge! I'm super excited.
