My brother says putting turkey manure on the garden this fall will help it for spring. We just moved to Missouri and have filled our first garden. Any thoughts or suggestions?

When I had a larger garden, my ex would get turkey manure from his brother in laws farm. It was very stinky, but worked really well.

My late father used dried turkey manure and it didn't seem to do anything. Perhaps fresh is a better, yet smellier option! Good luck with it!

It's probably a lot like chicken manure which is considered 'hot' since it's so high in nitrogen when fresh. You're brother is correct. Putting it on the garden in fall so it can mellow over the winter will be beneficial for your garden if it is in need of nitrogen.

If your dream doesn't scare you to death......it's not big enough.
