Beverley I really love your quilt. I just received the last set of squares today. I think that I will do something similar with mine. I am finishing up a major project and then I hope to get started on that next. Did you use a 5x6 format or is it larger. I want to make mine for a queen bed. Also how big are your strips?
Great job and beautiful quilt.

Callene, it is the Doxie one right!!! I used to breed Doxie so I was glad to see that print, so, I could put it in my quilt!! Rebecca- yes it will be 5x6 and I just used 2 1/2 inch strips. If you hold this quilt back a ways it is suppose to look like they are floating. Maybe when I get it all done it will look more like that. The grey strips are 8 inches and 10 inches long to go with the 2 1/2 inch squares. It went together so fast. except for my having to redo one whole row since I sewed it on upside down!!!

Beverley, back in the olden days ladies always left an intentional mistake in their quilts, because only God makes perfect things.

Linda yes the one is upside down, but I had already fixed a row that was all upside down!! hehehehehehe Well, My sister had a really pretty Christmas fabric so, I am using that one for my last square that I needed so tomorrow I am going to sit down and finish it. I will see how much energy I have tomorrow and I might even fix the one that is upside down! LOL

Beverley,
I have a quilt top done, its been done for years actually. I finished it laid it out on the floor to look at my accomplishment and my daughter said "are those blocks supposed to look like that?".
I had turned a few of them when I pinned them yup its still not fixed, but my sister thinks I should leave it. I may just do that.

Well my eight little kid quilts, made from yours and mine are finished, bagged up and will be delivered to Cooks by Hadlee and my son tomorrow. My pictures are not good but hopefully you will get the idea. They really are colorful and cute. They are 45" wide and 55" long. Thank you all for the 10" squares, a bit of each of you will keep a few very sick kids warm this Christmas. Hadlee asked me to use fleece on the backs to make them warmer for the kids. She is always cold.

This is one of my boo boos. Notice the odd squares? Between Hadlee and myself we ended up with three that had boo boos but we're still cute.

Love your quilts, Marilyn. The kids will love them, too.

Denise - I think you should just leave it the way it is. I love scrappy quilts; besides, all leaves of flowers are not always the same. I think it looks great this way. Just add a border and be done! LOL!

Marilyn, your quilts are so cute! I love how they turned out. The children will love the soft fleece on the back.

Linda, I know I love this quilt, I think I made it in the early 2000s or late 1990's. Some of the fabrics are real feed sacks, some are reproductions. I just need to find a border I like, but then again I find those when I'm not really looking for them anyway. I think the only person who noticed it right away was my daughter, she has an eagle eye!

I received fabric from Callene while I was on vacation. Love the squares. Thanks, Callene. Cardinals were the state bird of my home state of Illinois. I need to order some of that pick-up truck fabric. The squares Callene sent me are different. This will be a beautiful quilt. I still need to find the right sashing fabric, but like Beverley's quilt so much I may change to that design - or maybe save it for Valentines fabrics. LOL!
Here's what I received from Callene:

Hadlee loved the little weiner dogs in their Christmas decor. I agree. Callene, where did you find that. I have searched six or seven online fabric sources, and have not come across the little dogs.

I got April's fabrics, too - and she was the one with the pick-up truck fabric. I love it! I love ALL the fabrics - this will be a beautiful quilt.

LadyBek (Becky) - did you get the two green fabrics from Joyce? I think I sent you out a second set. I got the first set with the wrong address while I was gone. If not, I will send them out again.

According to my calculations, everyone has sent their fabrics and probably received them all (except Becky - I may need to resend Joyce's fabric because my senioritis (old-time brain fart) had set in and I mis-typed her address. :-(

Get ready for Valentine's Day - I will start signups in December, but you can buy your fabrics now. Then we will have plenty of time to make something with them for Valentine's day.

Beverly -

I love your pattern and am thinking of using it, with a minor change - using alternating red and green, or gold, borders instead of the grey. Not sure exactly how it would work.
