You know you are a farmgirl at heart,,, when you are at a fle market and you find yourself dizzy from swooning over a little zippy bag filled with pre-cut fabric pieces...

Oh be still my heart... yep, I bought the baggie for $2.... I am sure my hubby thinks I have lost my mind,,, but,,, look at the sweet vtg. fabrics,,, I can only hope some were from flour and/or sugar sacks...
who ever cut out these pieces, used an old post card as her template...

I think the pieces were cut for a 'Dresden Plate" quilt...

Grace, you lucky woman, you! You must be right! Dresden Plate or Fan. I'll share what I was recently gifted with: A queen size, hand pieced Dresden Plate quilt top. Some of the quilting needs to be finished. Areas around the plates and some the plates need to be quilted. It came with the material for binding, backing and extra. Since it is hand quilted I will finish in that manner. I have never hand-quilted. So, this will be a learning experience and a labor of love. Given to me by my bff, quilt started by her mother who passed. She also gave me her pvc quilting frame. Feeling spoiled.

Little bags of fabrics like you found Grace would stop my heart also. I turned one baggie I found into flower bouquets. It sits out where I can see the prints every day. Prints like that just can't help but make you smile.

Gorgeous quilt Judith!

Grace: Wow, you really got a good deal. I love the age of the fabrics ( looks like 20ies and 30ies). Enjoy thinking about where the fabric came from. Who made the clothing and who wore them. History starts with an idea. If the maker didn't finish them and you do, that's part of the story too. Have fun.

Great find, Grace. I have two huge bags of scraps and a very large bag of selvages. I have made a vest, a tablet cover, a pin cushion, and am working on a spider web quilt using selvages. They make for interesting blocks.
