I suspect it will not last very long if left on the wheel all the time 24/7, but I certainly can see putting it on when camping and packing it away when not.

Cute - I wonder if you could crochet it out of plastic bag strips? Bags come in various colors. You'd have to collect for a while to get the colors you need or want, but what a way to re-purpose. Or maybe strips of oilcloth? They would be longer, sturdier, and in lots more colors.

Thanks, Amy. I am known for thinking "out-of-the-box". LOL! They are making purses and other things our of plastic bag strips, and bags come in all colors (a couple of my quilt shops have nice teal bags), so a spare tire cover that is waterproof - why not?
