Just got back from my favorite local greenhouse when a sweet young college girl brought me a sage plant that smells EXACTLY like pineapple when you gently brush the leaves! I was gob-smacked....then she picked up another plant that smelled exactly like theater popcorn!

What the heck?

I couldn't resist and bought the pineapple sage----I figure it will go well with roasted chicken.

Strange new world we live in gals when you can buy a plant that smells like popcorn....

Interesting! I'll have to ask the local greenhouses about that!

Pineapple sage is a wonderful addition to iced tea. I just like to rub it when I am out in the garden and sniff. Ahhhhhh

My aunt has a greenhouse that I've been working at every Saturday in exchange for plants, and she has the popcorn plant too. It was the weirdest plant! It really smelled just like popcorn. She said the flowers even look a little like popcorn.

we have a greenhouse business in Central Indiana & we sold popcorn plants this year for the first time. We grew just a few to try them but we will definately grow more next year, they were a huge hit! They will grow up to 6 foot tall, the blooms look like popcorn, & the leaves smell like popcorn when you rub them. It is a great conversation piece/

Last Saturday when I was at the greenhouse, there were people coming in and asking for them. She didn't have any left though. She showed me a picture of the flowers, and they do look like popcorn. She also showed me some cosmos she had that smell like chocolate. Those were pretty cool.
