Remember to stake out a viewing place for the Leonid meteor shower, November 18-19. The best evening is supposed to be from around midnight to just before sunrise on November 19 in North America. Pack some hot drinks and make a night of it!
Meteor showers are really amazing. I remember one year down here it was just incredible - I think it was the Leonids, too, that time - and another time we actually saw Northern Lights - strange but true!

Thank You so very much for posting this information...I am going to be looking! I wonder how many of us will be watching at the same time?

I can't remember now if it was the Leonids or the Perseids, but I watched one of these meteor showers a few years ago. We were right outside Philadelphia, so not what you would call an ideal light-free location for star-watching, but we counted up to 280-some shooting stars before we gave up counting and just watched. Thanks for the headsup! |

Yes, THANKS, for reminding us all about this! Can't wait to tell my kids about it....... Just think of all the farmgirls everywhere who will be watching this together. Let's make some great wishes!! Does anyone think if we all wished for the same thing, it just might come true?

We couldn't see anything due to cloud coverage. Waaaaah. It has been a while since I have stayed up late to see them and this year we were all (but the little bitty baby) going to stay up. I looked out about an hour ago, hoping the clouds had gone, but no.
Hope you all got to see some action. It is just beautiful~

I am up late, I have to do IV anti-biotics around the clock, so I was watching, BUT it is a little bit cloudy here, and I live in a bigger city so the light pollution might be too much. Too bad, I love meteor showers. Kate

All I saw were trees bent in the wind and lots of rain. But I tried!
