There has been so much loss lately among friends and family. I am at a loss to make sense of it all.There has been a lot of loss lately.
My neighbors husband was fighting cancer in the throat, he had been fed through a tube for the past year while he endured surgeries, he had a trach too, so that was rough. Then just before thanksgiving he was able to start to eat small bits of food. they had closed the trach. I was so happy for him. Suddenly complications arose, and my neighbor then tells me that cancer was discovered on one of his ribs and in stomach and that he was terminal! He just died a few days ago. I can't believe it.
My husband found out yesterday that his uncle is dying, my older sons' uncle died unexpectedly last week in his 40's, my younger sons' grandfather died of cancer in his early 60's about 2 weeks ago, and my husband found out a week ago that his father has a mass but nothing is confirmed yet. Today my husband found out that a friend of his died. It's just creepy how all this death is occurring one after the other. It's life I suppose, but very sad and it makes you think a lot. And of course our Daisy, our little dog that died last September, I still miss her terribly. Our other dog Oliver is getting older and frail and I am not looking forward to one day saying goodbye to him. He is in some sort of pain. The vet is keeping an eye on him. I suppose we can only take one day at a time and live in the moment.
Then hearing the news yesterday of the nutjob who threw his 5 year old daughter off a bridge in florida, i just broke down after hearing that.
How I wish for peace and happiness in the world. I feel this is a season of mourning.

Connie, I just prayed for you. That is a lot of stress and grief to be enduring.
It's nice to have a place like this forum to come to for comfort and kind words.

Connie,
It is a place of sorrow and grief, that is true! But there is a lot of joy, happiness and peace too! I try to look at the joy and peace, pray for the hurt, pain and sorrow and those who are suffering! I'm dealing with my own issues, but try to maintain an attitude of gratitude for what I have.
I will pray for you as well, as I KNOW how much of a burden it can be!

Connie, I mourn with you. Winter is often a time of loss but you have had so much. I am so sorry. Try to notice that with each day there is more daylight and the better weather is coming soon. Hopefully things will even out with not so much loss. You are in my prayers. Bonnie

Connie...I don't know if it will make you feel any better but it just seems like some years are worse than
others for loss. It can just be overwhelming for the Heart and Soul.
I remember the year of 9/11 was that way for us. My husbands Mother died (and we were all so close)
and then the Attack on the Twin Towers and that was a Horrific Loss for our Country.
Then I quit my job that I Loved as a Christian Book Store Manager...after 8 years. The owner sold the other store
we had and was coming back to my Store...and it just made for too many bosses...and he wanted me to go
back to working nights full time...and I just couldn't do it. He was in shock when I quit and frankly so was
I. But then what would have been my very first day Monday of not having to go work...My Dad had a heart attack
and I had to fly to Spokane...and was able to spend that week with him and the rest of my family...up to the
day he died. Two weeks later I was taking on a new job and then found out one of my dearest friends died.
Had to speak at her memorial service. I also turned 50 that year and that in itself was difficult and I was
diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue....and I mourned the loss of my own health and it turned my life
as I knew it upside down and inside out. I mean the list just went on and on that year. So, I really
do feel your pain and know that some years you just feel like you're drowning in a sea of LOSS.
I will keep you in prayer Connie. And I hope being able to share your pain...has helped in some small way.

Connie, one thing about seasons is that they pass and new seasons come. My prayer for you is our promise in Isaiah 61:3 ...the oil of joy for mourning,...

Thank you all for your kind words. I'm okay, it just puts things into perspective. I am definitely making the effort to feel happy and just take joy in the little things throughout the day. I always remind myself that there are always other people who have it much worse, and that I have no right to complain. In fact I have much to be thankful for. You all are wonderful.

Connie, I too feel your loses..I can relate too...I also know...there are no words...we can make no sense of life sometimes..I know ..to heal, I have to put others pain ahead of mine.and pray ..for there is healing in helping n prayering for others..You will be in my heart n prayers...may He wrap his loving arms around you n give you peace..Blessings sister farmgirl...Blessings..
