Well I did put borders on 4 quilts, I made 3 surgical caps, 5 microwave potholders, a fabric pin, 4 Christmas ornaments, a bandana, learned how to make a women's surgical cap, went shopping for fabric (what else), and whew I'm tired!

3 quilt tops will go to the long arm quilter next week hopefully.

Linda,
Sounds like a fun and productive retreat! The shopping is necessary at retreats :) you may have forgotten something or just need inspiration.

Good Job!

Hello, all -

I'm home from retreat - trying to reorganize (is that even possible?).
Sorry to take up so much space, but here are pictures of some of the completed (at least partially on the quilts) projects -
I put borders on this mystery quilt that I made - now off to the longarm quilter

Black/white quilt I had made at a previous retreat and at this retreat I added borders. It, too, is off to the quilter

I Spy Alphabet Quilt I had made that I added borders to. I will attempt to quilt it.

Blue/White Monthly blocks from small quilt group - I added borders at retreat. I may try to quilt this.

Triangle Swap quilt from 2008 or 2009 (each gal sent 21 cut out scrappy triangles - one with her name and location info on it. I added the last 2 rows at this retreat and now need to decide on borders. There are 441 triangles and 42 half-triangles in this top. Whew!

Monkey Wrench quilt I made last year, had quilted early this year, and added binding at this retreat. 3 of us said we'd make the same pattern with our own fabrics. I'm the only one finished so far. I used all floral fabrics from my stash - only bought the border fabrics - and I call it Mother's Garden, because my mother (and her mother) always had lots of flowers in their gardens.

6 Microwave Bowl Potholders and 3 men's surgical caps made at retreat

I'll have to post the rest after my camera battery charges.

so - what do you think?

Holy Cow, Linda!!! I'm so completed UFO impressed! What do you do with the surgical caps? I must have missed something here.

LOL! My boyfriend is a surgical nurse. I've made him several caps with kids prints. I got a better pattern at the quilt retreat - maybe he can sell some of these. Just what I need - a sideline business.

LOL! I added borders to another quilt last night. Today I took 3 quilt tops to a longarm quilter to quilt. I will get them back on Friday or Monday.

My energy and project completion seems to come and go in spurts. LOL!

Erin, Love the t-shirt quilt! It really turned out nice.

Linda, have fun at the quilt retreat!

Every year some ladies I use to work with go on a stitching retreat in Nov. Can't wait. They are always so much fun. And speaking of our retreat, I finally got around to digging out the material for a new pair of jammie bottom. Got this material several years ago to do this. My camera is out of batteries, so can not take a pic but as soon as I can I will. One more UFO done! Check

Love this thread! Really keeping me motivated to finish up some projects!!! Thanks Ladies

I have to add. I was going through bins of fabric in my sewing room. I have nit been through these in several years. I threw the fabric in the bins when moving out of my old house during a really bad break up. Then had graduate school, so they have been neglected.
To my absolute joy, I found several vintage feed sacks I bought at an estate sale. Also my stash of reproduction feed sacks. Two quilt tops that need to be quilted (UFO's for the list). I also found some embroidery projects I had forgotten about. It was like opening a present. What a good day!!

Hurray! I finally finished the bookmarks. They are from a Mary Engelbreit pattern. I backed them with white felt. Now to decide who to give them too.....

They are cross stitch. I know because Audra Rose is my sister and she does the most fantastic work.

Vanessa,
The book marks are really cute. I admire anyone who can do cross stitch. I have never been able to keep it centered, even if my sister would start it for me.
