Grandma taught us how to cross stitch and embroider when we were little. I wasn't into counted cross stitch until the kids broke my sewing machine. I bought a project at a yard sale that was almost finished, and completed it. Then I was sucked in.

Audra Rose,,, your book markers are beautiful!
I use to be an avid cross stitcher... but with my vision issues,,, I can only focus for about 15min at a time,,, wearing 3.00X reading glasses...
Thank goodness I have my Ott Lite & magnifier to help.
I can hardly wait to see what you stitch up next.

Join the group, Grace. We are all fabricologists - collectors of fabric. When a clerk asks what am I going to do with the new fabric I say it is going to keep my other fabric company.

Today I'm working on an apron and Pat Speth quilt blocks for a quilt. She is the Nickel Quilt lady - nickel referring to the 5" squares all her quilt blocks are made with. I have 3 of her books and I love them, just not enough time to do all of them.

Me, too, Grace! And have you ever bought fabric because you find it and love it and come home to find you have bought it at least once before? LOL!

All my fabric purchases are on a need to buy basis. If I see a nice piece of fabric in a dumpster, I snatch it because free fabric doesn't count.

Lol, Grace. I think it is the quilting friends of the one who dies with the most Fabric who will win.

I heard of a guy whose wife died and he asked a quilt shop if he could donate her fabric for a charity. They said yes so he brought over three pick-up loads. They measured it, sold it for $1 a yard and gave the money to a sewing charity.

I'm finishing up some merit badges, many of them earned long ago.

My hubby has a serious need to finish "UFOs" . . . but I can't seem to convince him!

speaking of UFO's..
I finished this up yesterday...
It was a little foot stool that I bought at a local Thrift foe $1.00
The fabric was shredded and the wood legs needed to be re-glued...
I then painted the wood,, re-padded with new fiber fill and foam and then covered it with printed burlap..
It had been sitting in my garage for months.. and I decided it was time to 'getterdone! '..

Grace,
I have the same pillow pattern, I was working on it over the weekend. Actually I had to take some of the embroidery out and restart. But I still worked on it so I think it still counts. It continues to be a UFO, but hopefully not for long.

Bonnie, with a hand full of chocolate ,,, I can get nearly anything done! lol!

Denise... I luv this printed burlap fabric... the sticker shock, is the price! yikes!... who would have thought burlap would reach $14 per yard.. thank goodness for 40% off coupons and that I only needed 3/8 of a yard... lol!
