Love the silverware box Katmom. It is so pretty. Know what you mean. Every time I move something in my sewing/craft room I find another UFO! Oh My! I found another chicken apron and a blue apron. I think I will finish the 2nd chicken apron as a special gift but will make and keep the blue one. A few years ago Walmart was discontinuing selling these kits. They were only 5 dollars so I knew I bought what they had. (couldn't buy the material for an apron for that money) Just didn't remember how many I got. LOL
Almost had the second pair of socks done for DGS but as I was finishing up the toe I noticed that I forgot to turn the heel. So I had to rip it out and start over. As soon as I finish that sock I am going to start working on the 2nd sweater. The sleeve cap instruction were incorrect so it got put in the closet and forgotten. Once I finish the socks for DGS I will rework the pattern for the sleeve cap and finish that cardigan.
One thing about it..... as long as we are working on UFO's they will get done! ;-) |

Grace, your silverware/jewelry box is beautiful.
Marie, I like your stocking - gotta love granny squares.
I've given up on re-stringing the hanging birdhouse. Not enough strength in my hands to tie the knots. Will have to get a sister to do it for me. Next I will tackle fixing-up the large wooden birdhouse and cover the roof with beer bottle caps.

Sara,,, I luv bird houses and you just reminded me, I have 2 out in the garage that need a little "freshening up" well if I get some sun shine tomorrow I think I know what I will be working on... lol!

Vanessa,,, haha! and if you combine crocheting a rag rug while watching a Godzilla movie... I'll bet you are in hog heaven! lol! I would be,,, well the movie would have to be 'Christmas Vacation' and stitching up 'yoyos'. nlol!

yippee skippy.. I finished up my table runner quilt. I bought the fabric in the fall, cut up and stitched then put it away because I didn't have the backing fabric nor cotton batting.. bought the fabric & batting last month.... and well today was the day to 'Geterdone'... and I did! Whoot Whoot!
I love the 'Mid Century Modern' look and the fun vibrant colors... now I just have to wait 10 months before I can use it! lol!

Grace, loved your pictures!! And fun sense of humor...
Count me in... I am a great planner, a marvelous starter.. but not so much a finisher. I finally figured our that "to finish" meant an ENDING of a special event. And so, as long as it is in progress I can dream and scheme. LOL ... And yes, I HAVE UFO's.... some reaaally old.
So.. in the spirit of Farm Girls Everywhere, I will commit to finishing 3 UFO's this year ---they're all large quilts --- and maybe a few little things...
Gals, inspire me !!!

Thanks to this thread I've been giving a lot of thought to trying to catch up on projects. This is the quilt I made for you youngest grandson.
I've mostly been catching up on fixing things and straightening up my sewing room and I'm close to done with a bracelet kit I got over a year ago.
Thanks for the encouragement and sharing of what you have accomplished!

I am currently working on a UFO,, but this is not my UFO,,, It was started by my elderly neighbor who passed away last Autumn... She had cut and pinned this quilt,,, so I stitched it up, now all I need to do is make my Bias tape for the binding and then finish it up...
it's 59" long... I have the backing and batting,,, just need to make the binding..
sweet use of 'cutter' doillies...
after I stitched the doillies in place, it looked blah, so I stitched on white buttons just to embellish..
Next time I drive down the mountain to go to town I will pop in Joanns or Hancock fabrics to buy the fabric to make my binding.
I want to finish this up and give it to my neighbor's sweet daughter-in-law...

I completed an UFO today. Instead of re-stringing two birdhouses I turned them into Mason Bee houses. They're perfect to hold the bamboo reeds. I have a few reeds leftover that I will use some place else. The houses are in my garden and they look really good.
Not only did I solve the birdhouse problem but I saved money because now I don't have to buy bee houses.
