My 4 chickens are free-range (to help with the grasshopper problem) and I have a problem. Every morning the chickens are at my front door on the porch, and they leave me not-so-nice presents on the porch. Does anyone know of a scent or something the chickens do not like that will deter them from coming on the porch?

Thanks!

the only safe way to keep them off your porch, is 1) fence it in, or 2)pen up the hens

I wonder if one of those fake owls that people put up for pigeons might deter them?

Tina - that's what I was afraid of LOL! I've thought about a safety gate across the entryway - for at least part of the time.

Emily - hmmmmm - I wonder.
